Unprofessional and non-concerning

Reviewed 17 october, 2021

My sisters and I booked this motel for a sister's weekend. We had a family emergency, colon cancer emergency removal and I had emailed and called them to see if we could get a refund? It was 9 days before our arrival. They refused to help us in any way. Told us they would open the room and if rented, we could possibly get our refund. My sister then called them 5 times on Friday to try and use the room for another party so we could them and be paid for our room. They would not answer the phone or answer any emails. We checked online and the room says it was booked again. Just terrible, GREED at its finest. I understand that this is in no way their problem, but would not work with us at all to get a refund.

My Go To Place To Stay

Reviewed 11 october, 2021

I haven't been here in about 20 years and I'm glad I came back. The rooms have been updated with a rustic, Adirondack motel feel, nothing fancy. The room was clean as was the bathroom (double sink) and the bed was very comfortable. Shower water was wonderfully hot, so be careful. Very soft towels, not that scratchy kind. I stayed in room 222 (the 2 Queens with a private deck facing the lake) and it was worth every penny. Mini fridge, microwave and full size coffee pot were a nice convenience, as was the love seat sitting area and table/chairs eating area. Large room, great for a couple looking for a getaway. They also have kayaks, and SUP's to take out on the lake, a small beach area and a dock. They sell what you need to makes Smores over that amazing firepit as well. The pool deck and firepit/BBQ area are fantastic. The furniture on the private deck was cozy and I spent a lot of time reading and enjoying the lake. After spending a day exploring, it was amazing coming back to that room to sit on the deck well into the late evening. The parking is VERY tight if the motel is full, so if you get a good spot and you're a walker, leave your car and walk to everything. I enjoyed several wonderful walks into town to shop and eat over the long weekend. Easy walk all the way to the Battleground Park for a picnic lunch and then a stroll back to hit up all the shops on Canada street. The price is fair for the room I stayed in, especially with that deck and view. This has always been my place to stay in Lake George. Nice owners, hassle free, easy booking. Remember it's a motel, not super fancy, but super comfortable, and a great place to stay.

Beware, pricey for non updated rooms

Reviewed 19 september, 2021

We stayed here in July and booked it because of supposedly been remodeled & updated and being that it has beach access. After arriving and driving for over 5 hours, we entered our room and I was disappointed. The room was old and outdated with old furniture with stains on them. The curtains were dated with stains, walls had paneling. I was upset, thinking it was updated and for the price I paid for the room. It was pricey for the condition it was. Tv kept going out. There was no microwave. We had several spiders in our room too. I tried to stay positive and appreciate the amenities. The lake access was nice, my daughter enjoyed the pool. We liked using the kayaks. Walking distance from town. Staff seemed nice.. it seemed like half the property , with the rentals in the back were all updated. Maybe they’ll finish the rest of them? On the internet it shows standard rooms painted and updated a little. And our room was nothing like what we saw online. It was disappointing for sure..after staying 3 days, we checked out and went to another place for less money that was so clean and updated and the property was amazing. I included a pic of a room that is shown on the internet for a standard room and ours did not look like it.

Maintenance needed

As soon as we opened the door to the room the pine scented cleaner they used had an overwhelming smell that was sickening. The carpet looked dirty and the air conditioner was out dated and insufficient. The shower fluctuated to scalding hot and then freezing cold along with cracked tiles on the bathroom floor and towel bars that were ready to break. The dresser was broken and unusable. The toilet seat was cracked and eventually broke off. Disgraceful for the amount of money that you pay for a vacation that was anticipated. The hot tub could use updating. The best part was the outdoor furniture in the gazebo area.

Nice motel located near village of Lake George, NY

Reviewed 10 august, 2021

First time staying here but have been going to the Lake George area for many years. Room was a single queen size bed which was decent. Room was clean though there were scuff marks on the doors and some wall areas. Had broken bathroom floor tiles but the hot water was pretty much instantaneous. We were in a room close to the main street but the room was fairly quiet, I was a little concerned at first. Though up close to the street which was a plus if going down to the village, it meant having to walk a little bit downhill on the driveway to the beach area. The lakefront area was narrow which is similar to others on the lake so don't be surprised. There is a small sandy beach and a similar grassy area with firepit. There is a dock if you are lucky to have a boat and a spot was available. This area is clean along with the rest of the property. The lake is always beautiful and so many people are out enjoying it. This does mean it's a little bit more busy compared to other venues further up north along the shore. You are close enough to see the south end of the lake where the cruise ships are docked (think Minne-Ha-Ha) This means you can also watch the Thursday night fireworks from the beach area. The motel is also about a 10 minute walk to the village so if you want to go to Shepard Park on a Friday night for the concert, no parking issues. The only pet peeve I found is that nobody seems to park in front of their own room. We would leave and come back to find someone parked in front of ours. There seems to be enough parking as you park diagonally but who knows. The cost for this room was about $200 a night for the 3 nights we stayed. There were many families staying here and many couples so a mix and everyone was friendly. Noise at night was not an issue at least where we stayed. The family units were further down the parking area closer to the beach so maybe it was a little louder. Though you can certainly drive to eat, there are places within a few minutes if walking.
