Don't visit here
Why would you tell a paying customer that you will not be opening the pools, restaurants, or bar; because you are not busy enough. This was my vacation, but I guess your customers do not matter. The room was ok, and the cleaning staff were really nice. Planned in advance for the cleaning, really easy. The saving grace, was Will and Mike. So, nice! Nothing but love for the males, but the women at the desk seemed to hate their job.
loved our one-night stay
after a harrowing experience the night before at Humboldt county motel, we LOVED Crowne Plaza at lake Oswego. and felt very safe and even pampered in the midst of Covid-19. The views are great, the food market was free since because of covid the restaurant was closed. pillows could have been softer.
Pleasant, clean, comfortable hotel but a couple of negatives
This is a modern, clean, mostly pleasant property . . . and while I imagine there may be some seasonality in the rates, it was a very good value for a one-night weekend stay in February. A few comments: 1. The lobby and the floors are bright and inviting. The central atrium brings in lots of natural light onto the guest floors. 2. Our TV wasn't working; they said they'd send a maintenance person. I thought this could end up taking an hour or two, but was pleasantly surprised when a maintenance person came within 5 minutes and did some sort of reset and had it working within 5 minutes. 3. Front desk staff was friendly and efficient. 4. I like that parking is complimentary . . . in some metro areas, some suburban hotels now charge for parking and I think it is outrageous, so I am happy this place did not. It is actually a decision criterion for me when I select hotels. 5. Some rooms have small balconies; we had one. A "nice to have" but they are very small and are nothing special. 6. Bedding and linens were clean and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. 7. There's a nice restaurant - Oswego Grill - across the street, also a Chipotle, and a Starbucks, and, I believe, some other good dining options. 8. Easy off/ easy on with respect to Interstate 5. There are a couple of watch outs: 1. Our room overlooked Interstate 5 and a major intersection. And, the sliding door to the balcony did not provide much sound insulation, so there was a steady traffic hum at all times. It wasn't enough to prevent me from sleeping, but those who are sensitive to noise or who are light sleepers might want to ask for a room that does not face the freeway. 2. One of the two elevators was down for maintenance. Obviously, it's a fact of life that elevators are going to need repair at times, so I can't ding the hotel for this. But it did make for some lengthy elevator waits when a 6-story hotel operates on only one elevator. I wish hotels would place stairwells near elevators instead of way out at the corners. 3. From an an environmental perspective, I am not a fan of their "indoor-outdoor" pool, which incorporates a large open-air gap above the pool's surface between the indoor and outdoor portion. In the indoor area, they run these powerful heaters that hang from the ceiling . . . a lot of that heat obviously escapes to the outside . . . and it is an uneven heating that is not too comfortable for those (e.g., parents) who might prefer to sit poolside while the kiddos play in the pool . . . spots of intensely uncomfortable heat and other cool spots And I'm sure a lot of energy goes into keeping the water adequately heated. This is the Pacific Northwest, just accept that a pool should be indoors. Or if they want to do some gimmicky indoor-outdoor pool, make the outdoor portion seasonal.
Worst weekend
Checked in thought it was going to be a nice weekend. Settled into the room, left went to dinner after all it was Valentine's day. We get back to the room and my husband finds spots of blood on one of his pillows so he calls for more pillows they arrive. Then the bed is too soft and lumpy. Okay we make the best of it...then about 1130 he goes out to get something and the elevator is out of order and we are on the 5th floor so he hikes the 5 flights no one yd us it would be out of order that night and the other one was ri h up graded so it wasn't working. Then saturday night into Sunday morning is doors slamming and what sounds like construction noise. We get up Saturday and go out and about ...when we tried to go to sleep Saturday night again uncomfortable bed and doors slamming. We decided to just pack up and go home. We go to check out and without hearing us out about why we where leaving the front desk person says I'm sorry but your still responsible for the room and taxes for the night....drive safe. Talk about not only insensitive but also rude. Never stay there again...waste of time, money, energy.
