More about the hotel
Notown
Heard this place was all about Detroit, maybe I was misinformed but I was unable to find even an old English D, a pic of any red wing legend, the number 20, a car (except the one out front being given away like other casinos). I asked where the Detroit things were and the server said there’s a Coney Island in the building, my bad for getting my hopes up I suppose. That being said, pretty cool looking place, the long bar was impressive and the facility was well kept. Nice place just not what I was expecting
NIce Hotel
I spent New Years Eve at The D hotel this year. I wanted to experience Fremont St and Old Vegas on New Years. The hotel is nice. Not too big it is right in the heart of Fremont St. The rooms are clean and nice. Just don't have microwaves or Refrigerators. Usually the price is great for this hotel and it was the best deal for New Years eve and Day!!
Clean and decent hotel in Downtown Las Vegas
We stayed 2 night and used the $100 for two night Sunday -Thursday promo. The promo is a good deal as the hotel is located right on Fremont Street and you could walk out of the D onto the street. Hotel/Bar/Gambling areas were clean and COVID-19 protocols were in force and we felt safe. Staff was nice and check-in was fast. Rooms are nice, with very speedy and efficient elevators. There are no fridges, coffee makers and microwaves and the AC/Heater unit was very hard to use as one night the weather was cold but the heater would not stop after setting it to a certain degree which in the end we just shut it off. Finally, they used the little plastic bottles which pollute the environment as the D should use refill type of soaps in their showers. All in all, good value for the promo we got.
Great views
While the casino and its various offerings are in line with most other downtown properties, the views here are fantastic. A corner king room on the 24th floor provided a great view of the mountains and downtown. An advantage over most of the mega resorts on the strip is the distance between the rooms & parking lot is much more manageable.
Not for us!
First let me say that the hotel and casino were very clean. Most everyone we came in contact with was very friendly and I felt like they had great security as well. However, I won’t be staying here again! One, there is NO room service?!? Something we always look forward to on mornings after a late night. Secondly, there were small unsupervised kids running up and down the halls constantly. I wasn’t even in my room much but when I was there was children screaming down the halls. , Third, on the second night we were there at 5am or so the phone was ringing and someone was banging on our door. Apparently a “valve” that was only in our room and could only be accessed in the middle of the night needed to turned? And finally, they turned the water off for several hours during the day. One of these things I could overlook and would prob go there again but not all of them. I loved the sister property the Circa and hopefully will have better luck if we stay there!
