More about the hotel
Unwelcome and Dysfunctional hotel security
Family was harassed by security while waking in the casino with my 4 year old, hungry looking for a restaurant that was open, not knowing where to go. Felt as if I was being single out and bullied. The hotel should be so lucky for me to visit with how the economy is with Covid and not so clear, smokey casino floor.
Awful Visit...find somewhere else to stay
We have stayed at the Tropicana Laughlin in the past. After this visit...never again. I booked a 2 queen, non smoking room. We arrived late on our first night. Check in was quick, but we arrived at our room...carrying 2 sleeping children, plus luggage...to find out that we were in a smoking room. The room was also completed outdated, had an ac that did not work, etc. I would not have complained about that. I called down and spoke to the front desk (I believe her name was Danni). She told me sorry, there's nothing I can do. After going back and forth for a few minutes, she hung up on me. One of my kids is coughing at this point from the smoke, so I ended up going down to the front desk. She immediately calls security. She told me there was nothing she could do and that a manager was not available until 4am. She said I could wait until then. Not acceptable. Eventually she tells me that she will just switch room with someone checking in the next day and we have to move all of our stuff to a completely different tower at 3:00 in the morning. She did not even have the decency at check in to go over what type of room that she had put us in. She was very rude, very unhelpful, and should not be working customer service. The room was small and outdated compared to our last visit, but we made it work. The hotel does have free Wi-fi, but it is only for one device. We had 3 of us trying to do school in the mornings and we had to use our own hotspots despite the fact that we are paying the resort fee. On the last night, our room key did not work. We had to wait 15 minutes for security to come and unlock the door for us. Give the Tropicana a miss! We will definitely find another hotel next time.
FUN TIMES!
The rooms in this hotel have been remodeled and they are nice! My room was perfectly clean in every manner. They even sent me an email asking me if I’d like to upgrade my room for a small fee, which I did and it was a lovely room with a huge shower! The staff was friendly everywhere we went and the restaurants were open. The line could get long at times to go to the elevator because people were being kind and practicing SOCIAL DISTANCING as they were asked. I’m a nurse and I had no problems with the practices of this hotel. It’s in a great location, had ample close parking for our boat and the price was right! Love how the hotel is lit up at night like the emerald city. Definitely pick THIS hotel if you’re going to Laughlin it’s the best choice.
Very disappointed in the Tropicana's Covid control
My wife and I stayed at the Tropicana September 17th to the 20th, 2020. When booking we were assured they would be following covid protocols with masks and social distancing and the hotel was being run at 50% capacity! The first night was great with very little if any large groups and we felt safe and were not worried at all. Then came Friday afternoon, the place was absolutely packed, 2 hour waits for check in (we had friends arriving) , zero social distancing, it was an absolute disaster of a response. The line up for the elevators was between 40 and 50 people, all lined up directly behind one and other, kids running wild everywhere, minimal masks there is no way that this hotel met the legal requirements for Nevada and none of th adults we spoke with felt safe at all. I believe they may have limited rooms but definitely the actual head count of people if including kids! There was a family on our floor with 8 people staying in one room and there were literally a 100 plus families like this. The actual casino at night was ok but still so many kids running around while their parents had a smile on the floor. Saturday was busy at thebelevatora all morning, line ups at all restaurants and cafes, there were masks but no distancing, the pool was full of families and was a distancing mess so we could. It use the pool so we left and spent the day at other casinos. Then the evening came and the families came back from the beaches, from the pools and it was complete chaos again, huge line ups everywhere, elevators with 30 plus people waiting, no distancing and no control by the hotel. We checked out early the Sunday morning just to miss the line ups for check out. This was supposed to be a nice weekend away to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary and it turned into a very large disappointment. The rims as as. Ice as any in Laughlin but due to the poor response with distancing and crowd management, over booking and lack of a plan we will never stay at the Tropicana again and are praying we did not catch Covid19 due to their lack of planning and control. We spent time at the Gold Nugget and Aquarius and they appeared to have a system in place that looks after their guests as we never saw a single line up in those hotels.
Terrible staff and rude housekeeping
The hotel staff was rude and disrespectful. We stayed 4 nights over Labor Day weekend. We were not told at check-in we would have to clean our own rooms and fight with housekeeping to get towels. We had 4 people in our room but we're told we could have only 2 towels! Had to ask for toilet paper daily. Took hours to get anything. On top of all that, we we're charged the entire resort fee. For what, we did EVERYTHING THE STAFF WAS SUPPOSED TO DO!!!!! Will never stay at this hotel again and do not recommend it to anyone unless you like paying champagne prices for stale beer service
