Brasserie Experience

Reviewed 13 november, 2021

I ordered 2 starters and a main course at the brasserie. Throughout the night there was little to no attention from the servers even when my friend and I were seated at the bar a meter in front of all of the staff. The server who took our order read back our choices to us before he keyed the dishes into the machine. The food was slow and we waited over an hour for our starters and I did not even recieve a main course. By the time I had asked the server (1hr 30 minutes after arrival) where my food was, he was surprised at the fact that I wanted a main course. The kitchen was closed and I didnt end up getting a full meal, when we told the manager his reaction was unapologetic and very stern. I do not recommend going here as it was overpriced and awful service.

Excellent, 'comme d'habitude'

Reviewed 7 november, 2021

As former Lausanne residents, when we do come back to town, we try to stay at the Lausanne Palace. It never disappoints, and the first time we've been in the COVID-area didn't either. Fantastic service on arrival, with a special callout for Daniel at the front desk. The team there is very professional, but also easy-going and welcoming, which I like a lot. Room was outstanding - the view from the balcony was spectacular, and the decor and furniture are also very good. We enjoyed a nice lunch in the brasseries, which I highly recommend. Some things never change, and I mean that in a good way for the Palace. Highly recommended.

A wonderful stay

A special break as a family. Staff and services were excellent. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were great with really comfortable beds. Location meant we could balance sightseeing and eating out with lots of time to relax on the terrace and at the spa.

Good, but ...

What can I say? Although owned by the same group and both hotels rated 5 stars, the Lausanne Palace doesn't come near the Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne-Ouchy. On arrival we upgraded to a suite since the booked double room didn't have a balcony nor a walk-in shower. The room was nice and on the 5th floor with a view over the city and the Lake of Geneva. Both bath rooms were rather dark ( I decided to shave the next day at another hotel in another town) and the interior design didn't appeal to us at all. The room itself was fabulous. Still, something's missing in the overall picture, so next time, we will again stay at the Beau-Rivage Palace.

Average service and food at the lobby bar

Reviewed 30 july, 2021

I often seat at the lobby bar but have decided to write a review after realizing that a service and food quality have indeed reached the alarming zone. Both food and service quality are becoming nothing different than at any average place in the city. The only differentiator between them and a place in Renens for instance is the price.
