Ski holiday

Reviewed 24 march, 2020

We have stayed in many of the more expensive hotels In wengen and decided to economise and stay at the Bernerhof . We had the half board option and found the food as good or better than the more expensive hotels we have been in . The staff were friendly and helpful . The decor was a bit dated . However we found the beds comfy , the rooms clean and lots of hot water . We were very happy !

Nice location and has almost al you need

Spent a week here to ski. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room on first floor with nice balcony. Room perfectly adequate with small toilet/shower room and sink in main room with good lighting. Evening meals were very good with a different choice of three main dishes and always fondue or raclette. Everything was very tasty and ample portions. Wine selection also good. Breakfast slightly disappointing as nothing hot . Would definitely recommend this hotel to enjoy the slopes and not too expensive.

Terrible service, terrible hotel

Price of a luxury hotel for quality that is worse than a backpacker's. Very child unfriendly and unhelpful staff. Don't ask anything, the answer is no. They charge you for everything, including hot water for a baby bottle and breakfast for a 10-month old. Bathrooms are a joke - essentially a closet. No kettle provided in the rooms. Don't go there.

Great half board stay and amazing food

Reviewed 5 september, 2019

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 10 days in a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the high street and cable car station, the bathroom is a closet in the room corner but all that you need. The staff were accommodating and very helpful, we discovered we only had European adapters but the hotel were happy to lend us the right ones for a 20chf deposit to ensure it was returned at the end of the stay. The food was absolutely amazing, breakfast had everything from cereals to pastries, boiled eggs and fruit and yogurt. The packed lunch was a lovely with a chunky sandwich and dinner was salad, soup, a main and pudding, ice cream or cheese!! The waiters were great. The hotel also offers the guest card which was great as it provides a discount for the mini golf and outdoor swimming pool in the village. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, thank you to all at the Bernerhof!

We had a lovely stay

My daughter and I had a lovely stay here. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Room was a good size with a balcony and a view to the cable car (the bathroom was small, but perfectly useable). The breakfast was very nice. Wengen card gave a discount to use the open air pool with view of the Jungfrau. Wengen is only accessible by train or on foot. This was good for us as we had a train pass. There is so much to do in the Wengen /Mürren / Grindelwald area that you don’t need to worry about being stuck there. We booked with TUI which I would definitely recommend. This is not a luxury hotel but it was more than good enough for us, and we would stay again,
