Made my wedding phenomenal!

We booked our wedding 2 and a half years ago, for September 2020 and then covid hit! We wanted the big normal wedding that we have dreamed of, so we definitely didn't want to go ahead until we could do it properly. We postponed to March 21, but restrictions were still in place, so ended up postponing again to our original date in September but for 2021. Both of the wedding coordinators couldn't have been more accommodating and we were saved so much stress during our postponements and rearrangements. It also didn't cost us an extra penny! It was a sense of relief amidst everything that was going on.
The wedding day finally rolled around and it was absolutely worth the extra wait. Every single member of staff we encountered was so lovely. We were treated so well by everyone at the castle. We truly felt like a king and queen!! Our day ran so smoothly with not a single hiccup. Perfect is the only word to truly describe our day. I honestly do not think it could have possibly gone any better than it did!
I didn't have any of the buffet, as I was too busy dancing away to the amazing DJ that was provided in our wedding package.. But the wedding breakfast was incredible! Almost every guest commented to us how good the scotch egg starter was and we whole heartedly agree! My husband joked he would never enjoy a scotch egg again as it would never be as nice as this one!
Our wedding really was perfect, and we can't thank the amazing staff at the castle enough for making it so. You can tell they don't just hire anyone, as they are all genuinely such a lovely group of people. Thankyou for making our wedding as magical as it was. We can't wait to return.
Overpriced and Filthy!

For such a high price, we expected much more. The room was grimy and dirty, the towels were smelly, stained and shredded to bits, dim lights in the bathroom but none at all in the shower, there was mold and * knows what else on the bedding[!!!!!], the toilet seat was broken, no soap in the bathroom, grime everywhere and that was just our room.
My family occupied other rooms and they couldn't sleep due to fans and food smells from the kitchens and also complained about how filthy this place is.
We overhead another couple complain about the exact same on checkout and this was just dismissed, there was no apology or compensation offered at all and they left understandably disgruntled too.
The place is run down, it needs gutting, carpets replacing - the lot.
Completely overpriced, such a waste of money!
We were charged double the standard rate booking via the hotel too rather than on booking.com and that was supposedly with discount!

Had a 3 night staycation visiting family, and unlike other UK hotels they hadn't trebled their prices. Some rooms can appear a little bit small but not claustrophobic, however the food in the restaurant was very very good and all the staff were exceptional. We had booked a 3 night stay and my wife liked it so much she booked an extra night, it's a great base to get to West Kirby and Hoylake and other lovely spots along the Wirral peninsula, add also it's only 15 minutes to Liverpool and you understand it's a great location. On the day we checked out they were hosting 2 weddings, so they must be doing things right. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone and will be back in November👍👍👍

I'll start with the good. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The staff were very relaxed and friendly enough. The front of the building looked like the castle, with beach access. We had a sea view which I payed extra for and it was OK but not what I expected.
The room was super hot and the child locks on window were tricky to open. We did get a fan off the night warden. It helped a bit. Finding parking was tricky as a wedding fair was on but after 10 min of waiting got one in the end. The shower took a long time to heat up and was gutless when on. I'd have been better having a strip wash. The bar was expensive for wirral, my latte was luke warm and no froth on arrival. The grounds were bland with zero flowers an a couple of dead grass pots here an there. The inside had no original features an one could think they were in a Amsterdam b an b, dark dingy an horrendous lift. Breakfast was poor. Limited cereal and only a couple of slices of watermelon, the cooked choice was full English only and it had fallen out of a freezer, not fresh at all, not nice to eat either.
Disappointed and way to over priced, wish i'd stayed at home for this wedding anniversary.
