Just Ok
Not overly impressed with this hotel. The room was on the small side compared to similar hotels we’ve stayed, and be prepared to squeeze in the door, it was small too. Although, I guess the room was clean enough, it just wasn’t the best place. 🤷🏻♀️
Excellent Hotel Staff
We highly recommend this Hampton Inn. After a long day of travel the front desk staff was friendly and welcoming and let us into the pool last minute before it closed so my son could swim. The morning staff was also friendly and helpful during breakfast. Everyone we encountered was taking COVID precautions seriously and the hotel was very clean.
Nothing to write home about
OLD hotel. The "closet" is just hooks on the wall, covered by a curtain. Bathroom has no counter space, it's just a sink. I certainly understand the "new" breakfast style, but this layout is awkward. No way to know what is available until after you've waited in line. Their choice of cereal: froot loops. That's it. Only blueberry muffins. (Why it is believed that blueberry muffins are liked by everyone, I'm not certain.) The breakfast host snapped at me when I asked what was available, then again when I asked for a container so that I could carry a couple cups of coffee up to my room. While I appreciate the individually wrapped coffee cups, the trash needed emptied because it was overflowing. The front desk person did NOT wear his mask as every Hilton poster states: over your mouth AND NOSE. The next exit south is a more "modern " area as far as shops/restaurants go.
Comfortable stay during pandemic
The room was very clean, Using the Hilton App, we were able to check in, access room, and check out without even needing to go through lobby. We spoke to one of the the cleaning staff who old us about the extra care they took to keep the hotel clean and safe during the pandemic. Don't know about temperature checks during check in since we checked in online and just went to our room using a hallway door that we were also able to open using the Hilton App.
Try a different hotel
Updated and comfortable beds. The cleaning staff in the hall was very friendly and cordial. Customer service at the front desk is lacking. While traveling I called to reserve room and instead of booking my room I was transferred to the reservation department- lots of blah blah blah and on hold to be told “all reps are busy now”. I stopped so I could book online - (the two previous Hampton Inns I had called while traveling booked my reservation, no problem.) I realize we are still experiencing Covid issues but just a few days earlier at Hampton in KY we had a hot breakfast - this one did not - only bags to go. They were not available like most times & the attendant was not offering them; you have to request them. Coffee was available, not served & did not have the options we normally have, and it did not taste fresh and hot. The coffee area had lots of spills and just was not as clean as usual. The attendant did offer yogurt to add to our “bags to go” which lacked the pleasantries we usually experience - cutesy stickers which seal the bag closed. I would not stay at this one again when there is another at a close exit.
