Beautiful hotel
This is a gem. It’s so historic dating back to 1827 and it is so well preserved. There are covid precautions so the historic rooms in the original building are closed. The stay was wonderful nonetheless! Great service and beautiful hotel.
Great visit!
My husband and I stayed in one of the historic rooms in the main building and we loved it! Carla at the front desk was very nice and easy to talk to. She even shared with us information about the history of the mansion. The hotel also has a cat Colonel, and she is very sweet! I’m not a huge cat person but she was very well behaved. If you stay in the normal rooms, I don’t believe you will encounter her much (if you don’t care for cats). Overall, it was a lovely visit!
Say Hi to Colonel
I stopped here without a reservation for one night while driving cross country and was very pleasantly surprised. The building is historic and very atmospheric. I loved the uniqueness of it. The staff upon check in and check out were very friendly. The location is very good: close to the interstate as well as near a grocery store and other little stores. There is an historic cabin and garage onsite that adds to the charm. I also got to meet the house cat: Colonel who followed me into the reception area upon check in. Definitely a must stay and will return again.
Engagement trip
I was very impressed with the staff and how they went out of their way to accommodate my needs. They exceeded everything I had hoped for. Megan Hays is the general manager and she and her staff were the very best!!! She put me in a room with a fireplace that exceeded anything I had expected. I highly recommend staying here and doing any events here.
Nice place to stay in Lexington
This is a very nice property. Part of it is in an old mansion. Those rooms are currently closed due to Covid, but the Reception Desk is there as are several public rooms that are available for guests to use. The Reception area was VERY hard to find. We arrived at night and the little tiny sign that points to Reception wasn’t lit, so we wandered around the property for quite a while before finally stumbling upon it. The rooms not in the mansion are standard Hampton Inn – nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. The rooms are sealed after cleaning so that when you check in, you know that no one has been in the room since it was cleaned. There was no daily housekeeping done, but you could get fresh towels and toiletries at the front desk. We had a little sitting area in our room that was very nice. But, they need a table next to the couch for drinks, snacks, books, etc. There are ottomans, which are nice, but our feet were up on them and would knock over anything else we placed there! The windows and screens needed a good cleaning. We were a bit disturbed by the pizza box that sat on top of a trash can in the hallway for almost our entire 3-day stay. Breakfast was fine. On our first morning it was set up well in a conference room and distancing was easily done. The next 2 mornings we had boxed breakfasts available from the front desk. One minor thing – there were no signs about breakfast being available at the front desk so when we went down to the conference room for breakfast on our second morning, we didn’t know what was going on. We found out about the boxed breakfasts when we went to the front desk to ask about where breakfast was. Signs indicating that day’s procedure would have been nice. The grounds are lovely and it is within walking distance of downtown which has many things to see and do. We really enjoyed spending a little time with the resident cat, Colonel. She was usually to be found on a chair in one of the sitting rooms just off the front desk and was always ready for some attention. She added a nice touch! We’d go back.
