Awful stay...would NOT recommend
We visited this hotel for three nights. It is in quite a rough area of Lille and to be honest I didn't sleep for the time I was there. There was no air conditioning in the room so during our stay we had to open the window and balcony door to ventilate the room which to be quite honest did not suffice and the room was terribly hot throughout the night. The bathroom was absolutely tiny...the shower was so small that the curtain would stick to you whilst having a shower and it had a kind of hostel feel to it. The beds were relatively comfortable but the sheets didn't appear to be very clean. The only good thing about the room was the large television which didn't have any channels in English, despite being told that there were by the reception staff. The breakfast was an absolute rip off for what it was...some hams, some cheeses and some basic pastries but I wouldn't recommend - also when you check out they will add the local tax on top of the breakfast fee and they will add the tax on top of the room fee. So we ended up having a bill of over €130 for two days breakfast (for four people) plus the taxes. There is a local shop around the corner where you can buy some groceries if you need to. On one evening they had run out of water so we decided to ask the hotel for water. The kind lady on reception gave us the bottles and said they were free. The day we were checking out, we asked for another two bottles of water and much to our horror the other reception lady charged us €4 for the two bottles of non-refrigerated water. How cheeky! I have a feeling she pocketed this money for herself. The very cold water in the convenience store was only 50 cents. As mentioned earlier, my quality of sleep at this hotel was awful - we had the windows open to cool the room down a little and all through the night we could hear shouting and yelling from gangs around the hotel. At around 6am every morning I was awoken with the sound of the bin lorry banging and clunking extremely loudly. The room was also very dated and the balcony floor needed redoing. Overall I wouldn't recommend staying here. To the hotel, it really does pay to have good customer service. Had it not been for you charging €4 for two bottles of warm water I would have given a couple of extra stars, but when one person gives them to you for free and the other charges €4, I think theres something wrong.
A Lille-til shabby
Very dated hotel. Arrived an hour and a half before check in and was told to come back at 2. No attempt to get us a room any sooner. Very small bathroom. Good size car park which was good. Lots of building work nearby so don’t expect a lie in. Twenty min walk into the centre of town, but worth it. Check out Notre-dame de la treille.
Calm&cosy
Great hospitality, staffs very helpful, very clean room, same good cofee. My second time and still charmed. Correct price! Tasty deserts, complete breakfast, good juice, good sweets and salty. Thanks to find you again
Just outside citycenter but decent hotel
We had a spacious room for the three of us (two adults and a little boy). Though the bathroom was tiny it did not bother us. There is a bakery nearby so you can have breakfast in your room! Also a plus is the private parking and though it is a little walk (20 minutes) to the city center we will definatedly come back. The distance to Lille Europe is may be 900 metres.
Knowing what you want for your price range, get a top rate room.
Good accommodation, quick access, good cofee, clean room. Suit your needs when u travel. On must-have list.If you're working the entire time, having a spacious desk area may be a priority. Good day everyone!
