Fantastic location, tiny room, no information

Great place to see old Lille Lots of great restaurants within a few hundred yards and 10 minutes walk from Grand Place However, probably the smallest room for 2 we’ve stayed in No leaflets or information at reception and staff poorly informed with poor English Breakfast ok but had to ask for everything rather than it be provided Had a nice time and enjoyed Lille

Friendly, welcoming and excellent location

My second stay at this lovely boutique hotel, and it was just as good as the first time. This is a small hotel nestling in between the shops in the old town. It backs onto the cathedral, and my room had a magnificent view of this. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was self service, loads to choose from with a hot and cold buffet. I will be coming back next year.

Man tried to force his way in our room!

My friend and I stayed two nights and on the final morning of our stay someone was knocking on the door and trying to get in our room. We assumed it was room service & opened the door . We were confronted by a large man wearing only his underpants and clearly on drugs. He tried to push the door open and enter . We managed after quite a struggle to get the door shut. We called reception who came and spoke to him but 5 minutes later he tried again , knocking and trying the handle. We had to get receptionist back and insist he accompanied us downstairs. It was a very scary and potentially dangerous situation. The receptionist admitted that he had had doubts about taking the perpetrator and his friends as they had just come from Amsterdam and they were behaving a little oddly! After sending an e-mail the hotel said they are not responsible for the behaviour of other guests which is not very reassuring. We feel they do have a duty of care and have not realised the dangerous situation we were placed in. We were on the 5th floor, room very small, hot as Velux windows. Very noisy as lots of bars nearby. Good location. We found the breakfast to be adequate.

Excellent hotel but with a poor breakfast

Reviewed 25 may, 2019

The room was reasonably spacious with a very large bed, a good TV, an expresso machine which worked, quite clean. Everything in the room was to my taste. It is a three stars hotel but with a one star breakfast. I paid 120 euros inclusive of the 'gifted' breakfast but should have renounced this gift. Unless the hotel revises completely its breakfast I advise to sleep there in the Vieux Lille although there is nearby a lot of infrastructure work (but I heard nothing in the room which had a view on the square) but to have breakfast elsewhere.

Really bad staff

I stayed at the hotel for four days, I was in a room that did not have an elevator and I had a back problem, nobody offered me help and I had to go up and down with luggage on some very narrow stairs. But the big problem came when I forgot my invaling (dental appliance), I call the hotel for it to be saved and since the people at the reception do not speak English, they told me that they found it andthey will be saved it in the reception until i go to pick it up(I have it for emial) but when the transport company They did not have it, making me lose part of a very expensive treatment and without giving me any solution. If you do not speak French do not stay in that hotel
