Great location. Perfect stay

Beautiful house, great host, spotless and very comfortable. Perfect location to get about. Bus stop outside. Walking distance to local shops/eating places. Parked the car and didn’t use the 4 nights we were there. Tea/coffee making facilities in room with top ups as and when required. Lovely fresh fluffy towels. Room had a double and a single bed with shower room. All spotlessly clean and fresh. Had to pop to hotel next door for brekkie as Fredericka broke her foot. She called us beforehand so we were fully aware. This was lovely and they were super friendly. No cooked breakfast as was continental only. Still really nice. Perfect stay and would recommend.

Our stay in Chester!
Reviewed 5 august, 2021
Our first visit to Chester, and reading all the reviews, we decided to stay at the Lavender Lodge. We requested a garden room, which we got, and we were happy. On arrival, Fredericka was very welcoming and informative. The room was spotless, and all facilities we needed were provided. The few days we were there, the weather was warm and sunny, so we made use of the garden, which was very pleasant and pretty to sit in. Would definitely rate the breakfast - hot and tasty, kept you going for the rest of the day. The Lavender Lodge is situated approximately 20 minutes, on foot, from the centre but there are plenty of pubs / restaurants on route to enjoy. Enjoyed our stay in Chester, anyone thinking of visiting, would definitely recommended the Lavender Lodge. Thank you Fredericka for making our stay comfortable, Jackie & Kelvin X

Home from home with a "mum" thrown in for free.

We booked to stay at Lavender Lodge as we were volunteering for a Charity at Carfest North. The landlady who is a classy and friendly lady, was brilliant from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. We were made to feel very welcome and no request was too much, the advice provided on local eateries and shops was very useful, and she even went to the length of freezing a bottle of water for use in our cool box each day. The house is beautiful and well looked after, there was plenty of parking, and there was free on street parking as well if needed. The breakfast was delicious, and kept us going all day (I am a big lad, and from Yorkshire so festival prices give me cold sweats). Our room was spotless, the bathroom was lovey, and well supplied with good quality toiletries. The "in room" coffee and tea supplies were great and of great quality too. The bed was comfortable and benefitted from a good quality memory foam mattress. There was also a spare single bed in the room should we have needed it. We arrived in 33 degree heat and had two 30 degree nights, so the large oscillating fan which was in the room upon arrival was extremely useful to us. Despite the Covid Social Distancing restrictions being removed earlier in the week, it was our wish to continue respecting the restrictions, and this was respectfully observed throughout our stay. We genuinely cannot fault any part of our three night stay, and can confirm that we were looked after as well as we would have been by our own mum. Thank you very much, and we very much hope to be able to stay with you again in the future.

Lovely Lavender Lodge

What an absolute delight! We visited with our son and daughter- in - law and were placed in the most delightful courtyard with adjacent rooms. The setting was quite magical and it was a joy to sit in the garden,in what was probably the hottest two nights of the year so far, shaded from the still warm evening sun.Could not ask for more. The rooms themselves were spotless and the attention to detail did not go unnoticed. The interior of the house itself was beautiful and our breakfast was second to none.Cereals, full english( cooked to perfection) followed by toast with a choice of various jams. Fredericka, the owner, was the perfect host and nothing was too much trouble for her. The hotel is ideally situated to take a leisurely stroll along the canal to the city of Chester but, should you wish to avail yourself of a taxi back to the Lodge prices are extremely reasonable.Ours cost a mere £3.50p!. We highly recommend the Lodge and would like to think we may get the opportunity to stay again in the future.

one night stay

We stayed just the one night in a very comfortable double room with twin aspect. The room also had a single bed . One window was on the side of the house overlooking the hotel next door and the other widow overlooked the garden at the back. Room had a small en-suite with an overhead "rain" shower head. Comfortable bed . Beautiful Edwardian house with some gorgeous fittings. Easy walk into Chester or there's a bus stop on the main road outside. Shops near by include a small Sainsburys , local pub and an excellent Italian restaurant (recommended) . If you don't want one of those "chain " hotels then Lavender Lodge is highly recommended.
