Review from Asperger’s person

I have Asperger’s (and 130 iq) and I was at a loss of where to stay during the first pandemic, as my Mum didn’t want to deal with my meltdowns. I stayed at Hazes for many months and she was really supportive. I can’t really review this place as just a b&b. It’s more like I’m reviewing my home. Though I think that’s the charm of the place and of her. It’s everyone’s home. Ps it’s hard to avoid being cliche and cheesy when being sincere. Fingers crossed I wasn’t too sentimental. Ps. I installed a concrete slab and a smith machine in the back garden. When I leave it’ll be a nice sunbathing spot.
Small and welcoming ; like visiting your favourite Aunt!

Grove Guest House is unique. A family home full of the quirks and ecentricities of a family's history and able to offer a wondefrul welcome to guest. Sharing the breakfast table with other guests, some of whom are more like family friends, offers a chance to get personal recommendations for out of the way attraction in London that the guide books may overlook. Grove Guest House is also a vital hub in the local creative community and you can meet artists, muscians and writers who are either doing odd jobs around the Guest House or dropping in for a coffee and a chat to Hazel our hostess. \if you are lucky you may get roped in to set up a hand crochered art installation at the local market! Forest Gate has probably the best transport links in the city.

Hazel is a lovely, charismatic host and Grove House a wonderful home from home. We have been visiting the area for over five years and struggled to find suitable overnight accommodation. In future, our only problem will be whether Hazel can accommodate us!
This is not just a guest house . . . it's a whole community experience!

This place does THE best post-workout breakfast in town, but that's just the start. You get a warm, welcoming environment that is steeped in history (check out the generations of photos on the walls) and local community. I got talked into doing some outdoor exercises for a socially distanced art class! Grove Guest House does it the way bland corporate hotels can only dream of . . . you get to meet your host (the ever wonderful Hazel, a fount of knowledge on, well, everything) and really feel like you are part of the 'Grove family in its many and varied forms.
What a magical day!

What a magical day! From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Hazel and Grove guesthouse for the best wedding, this was beyond our wildest dreams (from the opera singer to the piano player to the steel pan Player who knitted together the different spaces that really made it magical) So in the midst of a pandemic not only did we have a wedding we had a wonderful wedding at that, thanks to all at Grove guesthouse for pulling this together and making it a special magical day for us, both myself and my husband would like to really share how magical it was to have our wedding day and reception at Grove guesthouse the garden was magical like a magical wonderland, The conservatory was like stepping into our own private bar, The retro sitting room was like kicking back in your auntie‘s lounge listening to the wonderful melodies of a local piano player. As an LGBT+ couple we were conscious that we had to have the right venue and right space that felt safe and right for us) which Grove enable us to do so, Grove guesthouse is like a magical little house that is absolutely scrumptious retro in parts, bonkers too and absolutely a magical garden that really enabled us to have the best wedding ever (under the Apple tree) We would like to thank you again for all your help from the day we enquired about holding our wedding, until the moment it was time for bed on our day. The help and support offered by Hazel and gang was very much appreciated. Nothing was ever too much for ask (and trust me I was a Groomzilla) and questions were always answered super-fast. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, or a better venue, it was absolutely amazing to have the different zones with different themes that made the perfect ambience, with the most attentive host Hazel; It really did exceed all exceptions of how the venue looked on the day, and how the day came together. Thank you to you and your team for the most perfect day. Alvyads and Isaac 2021
