Hotel stay with interesting services
Went for an overnight stay as was going to see a show. Restaurant was closed. Heater not working. Only 2 small towels. Spent 3 hours waiting for an iron. That said, room was clean and comfy. Didn’t try a massage or sauna but would have if I’d had more time. Shops and food places close by. Also, on the main road so buses are frequent and easy to catch. Strangely when I checked this place out online there was no mention of other services but it appeared to be well used.
Keep out
Please don't book this Hotel. Mold's smell is absolutely sickening, you can actually notice it once you get to the front door. The building is situated in a very run-down block and the room they gave me was incredibly dirty. The smell was so intense that I left after 30 minutes from the check in. Stay away.
Ok for one night
My friend and I were dreading staying here after reading some of the reviews. There is a funny smell in the lower part of the hotel which gets better the more stairs you go up. By the time we had walked up 4 flights of stairs to our room it was fine. The room was basic, no heating but a small heater was provided which was ok. The single beds were tiny, don't roll over in the night! A small bit of mold in the bathroom but the window had been left open (it didn't look like it shut) so we just kept the door closed and that was fine. At times there wasn't anyone on the front desk and there was a feeling of anybody could just walk in. Surrounding area was ok, not great but not terrible either. Bus stops into the city right outside the gotel so convenient. Fine for an overnight stay but I don't think I'd want to stay longer.
Disgusting scam, overgrown with mold
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Absolute dump that can't go out of business soon enough. Pros: + The bed was actually comfortable. Cons (in order we discovered): - The neighbourhood is awful. Nothing is close by. No taxi will find its way down there unless it absolutely has to. - While checking in, we listened to a customer who stayed there earlier complain about 30 GBP having gone missing from his jacket after room service "cleaned" his room. He was discussing this with what I assume was a lady who worked in room service (or other staff) while we checked in with someone else. Having stayed there now myself, I do believe him. Do not leave your valuables in your room! - The hotel STINKS. It reeks of mold as soon as you enter the long hallways. When we got to our room, we realised that the mold was EVERYWHERE. It is NOT safe to stay in this hotel. - Room was decrepit. Absolutely run down, falling apart in every imaginable place. The carpet had big areas just... shaved off? (Maybe from moving the bed?) The tap had no filter, making the water splash everywhere. The light in the bathroom had no cover, as if they forgot to install something around the bulb. The AC/heater was broken. Mold was growing absolutely all over the bathroom, it was disgusting. - The walls are paper thin, we could hear the neighbours watching TV and every time they opened their door it sounded like they were trying to open ours. Nightmare. - Staff is pretty disinterested and makes no effort whatsoever. When complaining about the various issues, we were just told that the hotel was fully booked and they wouldn't do anything about it. - Hotel is run as a scam because they know that they won't get any repeat customers. Don't even try to get your money back and be grateful you didn't catch any major diseases in there. We had to leave after the first night because my boyfriend couldn't breathe due to the mold triggering his asthma. Hotel doesn't care because they know if they refund everyone who had an issue, they'd be out of business. - When we left a day early after the first night, we caught the guy at reception on his smoke and phone break (during normal checkout hours) and had to wait for him to finish his cigarette before he walked back in, took the key, and said "that's it" without any further questions or even noticing that we were leaving early. Literally no one in there cares about anything. I think there is a restaurant connected to the hotel, but we didn't eat there. If the rest of the hotel is anything to go by, DO NOT eat there. The hygiene standard is non existent in this place, no one is bothered by that, and you're almost definitely going to get sick. This hotel is an absolute health and safety hazard. Save your money and your lungs. Go anywhere but there.
Cheap and almost clean
Been there for 3nighst. The price was very good for London and the room was so spacy. There was a little bit mold in the bathroom, but it was acceptable. The door weren't so good proofed and when our neighbors were opening their door, i tought that he tried to open mine. The strange thing was that in the 2nd day our towels disappeared from the room and the receptionist gave me that night just one towel because they don't have the key from the maid's room. Dispite of this the receptionist was kind and he printed us the boarding passes.
