Very good hotel. Rooms are very good size with very good beds and bathroom facilities. Excellent services. Excellent area and surroundings. Very close to central London. (Only four stops by BR). Excellent and free parking facilities. Excellent breakfast and meals. EXCELLENT OVERALL.

Not recommended if you need some sleep!

We stayed here on a Thurs night before a family funeral and wished I hadn't! The room on the 1st floor (Room 143) was directly opposite the foyer staircase and a non swing door which slammed every time guests returned from their night out from 12.30am to around 3.30am. The floors and ceilings are paper thin so we could hear people walking up and down the stairs and chatting loudly on the floor above until around 4.30pm. I drifted off at 5am but had to be up 2 hours later. It wasn't just us but other members of our family group that found it too noisy to sleep. Reception said we should have informed the night staff but I'm not sure what they would have been able to do about the banging and crashing of guests and doors. Such a shame as the exhaustion partially ruined my experience of what was a really important day. Just don't risk staying here if you need a good sleep. Despite its ideal location and decent breakfast, I know I'll never stay here again.

Loud event crowding out other guests + dated facilities

The hotel was running a wedding on the day we arrived, and instead of giving guests not attending the wedding rooms far away from the event, we were given a room directly neighbouring the event room, meaning it was far too loud. We had to ask for a different room, and the hotel only had a twin room left. Furthermore, the parking lot was completely overcrowded by guests, so we had to find a parking lot quite a way way. The hotel images are presenting the rooms in a very flattering light – the actual rooms and hotel overall have all aged quite a bit and are in need of a refurbishment.

Travelling with a dog adds complications that the staff dealt with helpfully and kindly. All the staff we met were courteous and went out of their way to help. Shame about the window stays and restrictors.

lovely area, quiet and very close (5 minutes) to the blackheat train station. breakfast was very good. my room was very clean and pretty big for british standards :D the greenwich park is only a 15 minutes walk.
