More about the hotel
Looking for clueless staff and “stains” in your bed? Look no further!
Booking this hotel for our stay in London was a huge mistake. We booked three rooms, two doubles and one triple. The two doubles had three single beds in them and a large ensuite bathroom and the room also included wardrobes, however the triple room had only a small double bed and a single bed with no wardrobe at all. The worst aspect of the “triple” room was that there was only a hand wash basin and a shower cubicle but no WC. The “triple” room was half the size of the two double rooms and yet we had to pay significantly more for the “triple” room which was smaller than the two doubles and no ensuite bathroom (which was included in the doubles). When we complained to the receptionist about the state of the rooms and our dismay he was very unprofessional, stubborn, and not helpful at all. We also mentioned that the heating was not working and his response was that it was far too late when we checked in (due to our flight being delayed) for them to turn the heating on for us. The next day when we came back from a very long day exploring London we all wanted to have a hot shower and rest however the “hot” aspect of the shower didn’t really kick in until after 13 minutes as that’s how long it took to get hot water. We also noticed that the two towels provided (described to us as “unused” and “clean”…..apparently) had holes in them and suspicious brown stains on them. Also the bedsheets had stains on them but given the state of the rest of the room that really shouldn’t have come as a surprise. To sum up, I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone because it is not worth the money that you pay as the cleanliness of the rooms can only be described as utterly appalling, the customer service is the worst, and the beds will have you needing a chiropractor to adjust your back after a night in them. Awful experience!!!
I recommend
My friends and I spent 2 good nights in this hotel. Close to the subway, good free breakfast. The staff was really nice, thank you. Really good price for London. You can leave your luggage. only one thing was missing, soap shower gel in our room but I really recommend this hotel. I will come back.
Mediocre visit in a small room, no wifi
We booked a two night stay at this hotel to save money so we could spend more on activities in London. We received nice service. Our room was in the basement and was rather small but it worked for my me and my mom. Our shower was in our room, but we shared a toilet and sink with several others on the floor. Unfortunately the wifi signal wasn't very strong in the basement, so this room was really only useful for sleep and cleaning up. The bed had bed springs popping out, which made it rather uncomfortable to sleep. Additionally, Europeans do not use sheets, so if you're looking to stay anywhere in Europe, don't expect sheets. I had been living in London for four months and understood the living style, but my mom was very confused by this concept and got too hot in the room. The complimentary breakfast was okay. Cereal, toast and jam, juice and an espresso machine was provided, and our meal was a good start to some packed days full of activities in London. Towels were provided, and if you don't have UK charging devices then you will need an adaptor as there are no USB outlets. It was well-located, as the walk from Earls Court tube station is short and straightforward (left from the station, left on Nevern and you're there). Overall we had a good stay, and I would stay at this hotel again.
No frills, clean and adequate
My partner and I go to London a lot and stay the other side of Hyde Park in Bayswater this booking was an alternative because we could not get into our usual hotel because of the Winter Wonderland. That being said we were surprised. Our booking was only for 1 night. 1. Secure - the hotel is very secure and we had to ring the bell to gain access. Later finding out that our room keycards would work on the front door also. Multiple CCTV in communal areas. 2. Location - stones throw away from Earls Court Tube station and around the corner from Earls Court Road which has lots of shops and restaurants. Location cannot be faulted. 3. Customer Services - concierge was polite, professional and transaction carried out swiftly. 4. Cleanliness - cannot fault it. Room was clean as was bathroom. Only criticism there was no headboard on bed with some discolouring of paint where heads have been. 5. Overall impression - Surprised. Wasn’t expecting much but room clean, staff friendly, location good. If I had to be picky there was a smell as I walked into the hotel much like an old people’s home. I would stay here again.
Unfortunately barely a hotel
10 years ago I booked this hotel, saw the room and walked away. Out of pure coincidence I ended up in this hotel again (I had forgotten the name), this time not with the option to go look for something else. Beds were okay and staff very friendly. Apart from that, it's old, not in a quaint way but a worn off way. Rooms are tiny, amenities beyond basic and it just doesn't feel comfy at all. I've stayed in better hostels, this really was no hotel standard at all.
