Poor Quality Food
Had a family meal first time in months of lockdown v dissappointed in quality of food!Thai red curry tasted like powdered curry no fresh ingredients there ,cold rice swimming in water was served wit it which I complained about got another one and was actually billed for it as well ! Also my daughter pizza was soggy but because I waited till the end to complain it was tough luck on my behalf !Not good customer service it was obvious it wasn’t fit to be eaten so it should have been taken off my bill as a act of good faith! Know for again won’t be back! Not the staffs fault they were polite and helpful just a low standard of food for the price !
Great stay!
Had a great 2 night stay at Walsh’s early October (just prior to lockdown 2) - Thank you Kimberley for all your help! I was given a family room, which was perfect for helping dry all my walking gear after a wet day on the Ulster Way! Lovely hot radiators and a warm bath were just the remedy. Excellent food, I enjoyed the breakfasts and evening meals (both nights). Additionally, the location was ideal for visiting Seamus Heaney’s HomePlace at Bellaghy, just a short taxi journey away..
Lunch was terrible
Popped in for lunch with my Dad and wife. Staff were pleasant and we were shown to our seats. Then it all went wrong. We ordered a "full monty" fry and two club sandwiches. The fry... bacon under cooked. Black pudding just crumbled. Dear knows how many times it had been reheated. The rest wasn't cold but wasn't nearly warm enough. As for the club sandwiches. The bread was toasted to carbon, but it was only when you looked underneath, the HIDDEN bit that you realised how bad it was. So bad that my dad couldn't even bit through it. Feeling for him, we asked for his to be changed. It came back looking like a dog's dinner. If that's the standard to expect, well not be back.
awful service and the food was below average
Went here last night with family for a wee treat, service was awful, had to remind a member of staff about our order and the food was way below average. I do understand they had a birthday party in the marquee but they should have been staffed accordingly. The waiters and waitresses all appeared to be very young and there did not appear to be an older member of staff at all. Very very disappointing.
Nice food
Have eaten here a number of times and food had been good. Nothing fancy but good portion sizes and good tasting meals. On our recent visit during eat out help out I was somewhat disappointed with the limited menu and the fact that paninis/ sandwiches were not being served. I do understand that eateries are under pressure due to social distancing but still felt that the hotel should be trying to offer more than just hot dinners at lunchtime. It was very busy and popular nonetheless. That said there was something for us all to choose to eat and it was nice. We are local to this hotel and will go back. The food is certainly nice enough for a night off cooking
