More about the hotel
Accommodating for Business Trips
We have used this hotel for several months for business travel. They have been extremely helpful and always had rooms ready for our employees. Sofiane especially has been wonderful and taken care of everything we needed. We definitely recommend this hotel, especially for business trips.
Very Satisfied Repeat Guest
We stay at the Long Beach Marriott for multiple days at least four times a year for business travel. We've been doing so for several years now. They always go above and beyond for our team, attend to our needs, and provide terrific facilities. Their positive attitudes and warm smiles make the end of our hard work days that much easier.
Poor customer service
At the last minute I decided to rent a room at the Marriott for my kids and I so we could beat the heat. I rented a 2 bed room, when I arrived at 5pm they only had a 1 bed room available. The front desk agent didn't even say, sorry for not having the correct room type available. Instead I got, here's your room, that's all we have, you're lucky you got that because you didn't even book directly with the hotel, it's a third party reservation and they messed up for giving it to you. I travel a lot and I work in the hotel industry, never I have ever heard such poor customer service from a front desk agent. When I asked what could be done to make things right, the front desk agent said, there's nothing that can be done, it wasn't our fault. I asked to speak to a manager, he happened to be seating next to the front desk agent and heard the entire exchange. He said, she right, there's nothing that can be done. I asked if I should speak with someone a bit higher up tomorrow, he said go ahead but the manager working tomorrow is the same level as me and there's nothing that can be done. I asked for a business card of the director of guest services, they gave me a blank card with the hotel address on it. I asked them to please write the directors name on the card. They had to look it up. So the front desk was awful! Later I asked the front desk if we could have someone pull out and make up the sofa bed for us. It wasn't done. However, the room was nice and clean, the housekeepers and maintenance staff were friendly and the bar tender/coffee shop people were wonderful. Too bad the front desk was just awful. If you want to know what could have been done, well here you go. A good hotel that values your business will offer f&b credit or an upgrade or reduced rate for a future stay. I've never been treated this way ever.
Imran Ahmed and his operations manager and front office, have repeatedly lied, and they are indeed slithery.
This man and his team have repeatedly lied, cheated and are the cause of rooms that are covered in stains, dirty linen. Pubic hairs, and we have over 20 photos. This is a bacteria infected environment, and not safe for human health. Pillows drenched in human fluids. Layers of dust, and when we stayed there it was a cesspool, The manager breached and did not reverse charges as agreed. That is not business, that is on verge of criminal. .
Dated Marriott with terrible management and customer service
At $300-400/night, it is NOT worth it. The Marriott is old, dated, and a bit worn out, which is probably why they are doing construction in many of the floors. The construction is extremely loud starting around 7-8am if you're on one of the adjacent floors. I've stayed here for 5 consecutive weeks for work, and am I a titanium elite, but haven't seen any benefit in terms of room upgrade, or service levels. The exec lounge is OK in terms of offerings, although they charge for alcohol. The ladies who run that are fantastic. In my past week, something happened with the pipes and water shut off completely in my room in the middle of a shower. The manager AND GM are two of the rudest managers I've come across at Marriott... They insisted that this was not their fault given it was an accident, and offered an incredibly lousy point compensation. This also doesn't excuse the fact that it still took them 20 minutes to get me a replacement room for a shower. Won't be staying here again. Westin in Long Beach Downtown is newer and about half the price.
