RAT INFESTED
Our much needed, precious vacation is totally ruined. Our friends on #10 had a rat in their unit which came to our unit #6. Construction in an adjacent unit has disturbed their nests and now they are moving freely in the units through old pipes. RVA, the management company has been great at calling a pest control company and cleaning/disinfecting but the rat has not been caught yet and no mention of a refund. I will not recommend the Outriger
Very quaint. Wonderful location
Stayed in Unit in Sept. 2018 during "red tide". But, no dead fish smell, beach was great. Very nice modern unit. Met the pool tech while swimming in it. He is very meticulous in checking the water quality and checking filters. Super clean and no chlorine smell. (He explained why). Units are right on the beach. Very short trail walk (about 30 ft.) through the beach garden to get to the sand and ocean. All balconies are screened in so no bugs. Kitchen well stocked with dishes, utensils, etc. and new looking appliances. Nice furniture, very comfortable bed. Good WiFi and cable TV. Very friendly staff. If I could afford it, I would just rent the place for the whole year. Was sad to have to leave. - John from Indiana
Close to the beach!
Wonderful small resort with old Florida charm. Located very close to the beach, the sounds of the gentle waves at night will lull you quickly to sleep! Also has a beautiful heated swimming pool for relaxation and fun. I have satayed here many times over the years, and will continue to do so in the coming years.
Best throwback resort on Long Boat Key!
We stayed in unit 4 and it was excellent. Keep in mind you are not at the Ritz. This is a seaside low-rise building which was probably constructed in the 1960s or 70s. It looks and feels like it is from days gone by but if you embrace the laid back style you'll love it! Our unit was on the ground floor with a big bedroom, living room and a well stocked kitchen. We had cable TV in the bedroom and living room along with all the supplies you'd want; towels, linens and toiletries. The best thing is the fact that the patio meets the sand of the beach. You could probably throw a stone and hit the water from the patio! Nice sand and the warmest ocean water I've ever been in. The only downside was it wasn't close to our relatives who were not on LBK. But maybe that was a good thing, ha!
Quiet and Peaceful
This resort was built before any of the others so is the closest you can get to the beach. Ask for Apartment 10 for a 1 bedroom or apartment 3 if you need a 3 bedroom. Both condos are spacious, have been remodeled, and have everything including the kitchen sink. Beach and pool are beautiful and not crowded. There is a publix and restaurants/shopping nearby. This is the best location for a vacation in Florida. Loved it! Will be back.
