My stay at the Hilton, Luxor location has been nothing short of great. They have been incredibly friendly with the front desk helping me with every request (getting a taxi, food requests, recommendations for travel, literally anything). A special shout out to the front desk for allowing us to check out and stay in the hotel until it was time for our flight to Cairo and this courtesy will always be remembered.
Excellent, amazing and comfy hotel with very friendly and helpful staff, relaxing and clean rooms, with very nice view

We spent 5 nights at the Hilton Luxor after coming from the 4-Seasons Cairo. I realize comparing Hilton to 4-Seasons is not exactly fair. We are a couple with no children. I'll give the pro's and con's to our stay at the Hilton Luxor. Keep in mind we were told this was the nicest hotel in Luxor... Pro's -Grounds are updated and beautiful! -Large pool areas and an outdoor spa area with an infinity pool for those wanting to get away from the family atmosphere at the pool. -Plenty of seating outdoors to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather and sunsets -Staff at breakfast and front desk were always willing to help if you needed something -if you approach them. -Beautiful spa rooms overlooking the Nile and affordable spa prices compared to the United States spa prices ($40-60 USD a treatment). I did a reflexology foot massage, sea salt scrub and 30 minute facial for $130 USD. -Nice large buffet breakfast was included with our stay -The workout room has all the machines you might need to do a workout. I'm not so sure how frequently machines get cleaned. I decided to clean them myself. Two of three treadmills were not working, but there was barely anyone in the workout room when I was there so it was not an issue. Con's -As a culture, they smoke a lot so expect secondhand smoke as a part of your daily experience. This is not the hotel's fault just their culture. Despite having a smoke-free room there are times you smell smoke. -Rooms are dated needing a refresh. Carpet old and worn. Our king size bed was two twins pushed together but made separately so we had our own blankets and were essentially sleeping separately (which hey after being married for a long time isn't necessarily a bad thing, but those on a honeymoon..) -Getting coffee each morning at breakfast became an event. I could never find staff to deliver a carafe to our table. I'm happy to get the coffee myself, that just wasn't an option. Staff at breakfast for the first three days weren't really available and looked very busy running around, but when the manager came back after three days of not being there staff were much more on top of things delivering coffee and bussing tables more quickly than the days prior so perhaps it was just the lack of her presence that created this experience. -Watch your bar tab! They will charge you more expensive liquor and not tell you. Our situation--One day we wanted happy hour so we were told to visit Oasisi bar. We sat there for ten minutes at 5:20 pm until the bartender acknowledged us, she informed us she was closed and to go to Olives, another bar. We went to Olives and that bar tender told us to go back to Oasis, we explained we had been sent to Olives. After being stern and requesting to not get the run around he agreed to give us happy hour. My husband asked for a bloody mary (on the menu) the bartender said they didn't have it. So we settled for each having a watermelon martini (which was delicious!). Upon receiving our tab we noticed it was not the price on the menu. When I inquired he said he gave us import liquor and it was more expensive. This was never disclosed to us. Keep in mind import liquor is still some of the cheapest brands of hard liquor you will get in the United States. Do not come to Hilton Luxor and expect fine cocktails. Liquor in Egypt is hard to find and only offered at the resorts. It is best to buy duty-free and bring with you if you are into good liquor. -Food is mediocre. We dined at Silk Road which was above average and Olives which was just okay. Silk road dinner for two which is their upscale restaurant with no appetizer and one entree for each was $70 USD. We had thai and Indian dishes. The food at Olives was average. Wine will set you back $7-9 a glass (again don't expect fine wine at Olives, just average). Cocktails are $15-$20 USD and are your general martini, pina colada, etc.
Great hotel, great reception staff, great food……terrible service!!!

Really mixed review of this hotel - parts of it were amazing, but others left a lot to be desired. First the good, the hotel is amazing with a great location right on the Nile and convenient location for seeing the sights. Room was ok. We ate in Olives their Nile side restaurant outside 4 times while we were there. The food was exception, so good! It was just a real shame about the service, which really let the whole place down. Honestly it is like the waiters do their hardest not to serve people!! Food takes ages and it is almost impossible to catch the waiters attention! At breakfast we had to ask 3 people to get us a knife and fork! Only exception was the breakfast boat ride - fabulous service by Mohammed (although the captain was 30 minutes late for that!!!). The front desk service was also good. The place needs to really improve their service, but would come back and stay again if I was back in Luxor.

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. The hotel is beautifully designed and with gorgeous views of the Nile. We enjoyed dinner at the Asian Restaurant and also out by the pool. We had a small problem with the air conditioning that was immediately taken care of.
