Stayed here on a quick weekend to Madrid!
Very cheap for two nights, yeah very basic, but the room was clean, the bed was soo comfy, great heating and aircon, and a nice hot shower. We were on the front above the two irish bars so it was very noisy at night but earplugs soon sorted that! Almost in the dead center of madrid, 2 mins to the metro. Staff, even thou they didnt speak much english were very friendly and helpful ( we needed an extra pillow which they got immediately)
Cant complain a jot for €120 for 2 nights.
Would definitely stay here again 😊
One of the worst experiences in my life

The staff was incredibly rude to us during the stay. The room was super dirty and the mattress very uncomfy.
Los empleados del hotel muy maleducados con nosotros. La habitación sucia y el colchón todavía clavado en mi espalda.

We recently booked for 3 nights at this hostel but ended up extending for an extra night. The location is excellent but ofcourse if you want to be where the action is, be prepared for some noise. The area abounds with various eating out options, supermarkets and is just off the Puerto del Sol. The renfe and metro station are in the Puerto which is less than 5 min away. The hop on hop off buses also pass through the Puerto which makes it very easy for a tourist to move around.
The hostel could be better sign posted as even our cab driver couldn't find it. We arrived late from London, exhausted, and obviously needed to ensure we had a place to stay.
The hostel is on the 4th floor of the building. Typical to Spain, family run hostels are independently run on each floor. Although the hostel was great at communicating in email, they didn't have the lifts working at night which meant we had to carry our luggage up 4 floors. The lifts were subsequently switched on but our initial experience on arrival was negative due to these 2 factors.
The establishment is very well run, there is always someone in reception and the rooms are bright, airy, spacious and the ensuite bathrooms were good. The rooms are serviced daily and linen towels are provided. Shampoo and shower gel was strangely provided on request in plastic cups!! The premises are very clean.
There is a coffee vending machine near the general area.
We were not expecting much at the price so were pleasantly surprised at the great value .. we had a double room and the TV had several channels including the world cup soccer games and the aircon was very welcome in the heat.
I would definitely recommend this place purely because of its location service, cleanliness and value for what you pay but please make sure you have better directions and that reception has the lifts working.
WiFi access was good. If you do not speak Spanish, Google translator is a must because staff do not understand or speak any English. As this is not a hotel no travel tips are provided alto the front desk does have sufficient pamphlets etc.
The shame room

First of all, something positive, the location is VERY GOOD.
However, it’s really really noisy but as you might choose this hotel because you want to party and enjoy Madrid it shouldn’t be a problem. The worst thing you will have to deal is the noise in the hostal itself, as nobody cares( staff or travelers).
Let’s talk about the room... it was a disaster. Of course, the pictures you’ll see on the website are true but we got the worst room of the hostal. No curtain, no paints on the wall, humidity, it looks like a jail...
So as few empty rooms were opened and unlocked we had the curiosity to have a look inside and we had the surprise to discover that ALL of them were clean, nice and tidy, with decent curtains and decoration... the problem is that obviously, the staff dare to rent this kind of bedroom and expect their clients to be happy. At least they shouldn’t be ashamed to advertise it on the website like they do with the other rooms so their customers wouldn’t have any bad surprises .
At the end of the day it’s a cheap room for a short stay, you get a bad a little storage and a bathroom which is what you need.
I wouldn’t go back but I hope you’ll be luckier than us.
