Reasonable value but downsides
This is reasonably priced and was located well for the nearby business district. It has airport shuttle and reasonably efficient front desk staff. There are vintage cars throughout and the lobby looks reasonable. The surroundings make it feel soulless, which, with the construction work in the conference area detract from the atmosphere. The room was clean and spacious enough with tea and coffee making with a kettle. No slippers or robes. Good hanging but no drawers. Shower is very sub standard low pressure and generally cheap fixtures which were broken. Breakfast is adequate but not outstanding, the fresh orange juice is a standout. Be sure the location is for you as its a 15 minute walk to Laa Tablas Metro that is another 30 minutes at least from the centre. I think there is a shuttle there as well. There is not much else nearby in terms of things to see or do They also lost hot water whilst we are here, which of course is probably a one off but very little in the way of apology, explanation or updates
Compact but issues not fixed
We were with a tour group and stayed for 2 nights. Looks normal outside but reception area is impressive with expensive antique cars on display such Rolls. Fee for parking Room is compact, nice and comfortable with most amenities including deposit box. No facial tissue. Shower hose leaks and the table lamp does not work (report to front desk first night but nothing done after second night). No English broadcasting TV channels even the listing shows “CNBC Europe and CNN International” which confirmed by front desk. Basically you don’t have TV to watch the news. Breakfast is quite nice with freshly squeezed Orange I would have upgraded to 3\5 had the leak been fixed
Good value for money hotel close to a business district.
This hotel was great value for a one or two night stay. The rooms are a little small but clean and bright. The bed was comfortable and the room had most of the main amenities including aircon, large tv screen and fridge, good shower etc. Whilst I was at the hotel there was a classic car display in the main lobby and lounge area, all f which are apparently owned by the hotels owner who is obviously a car fan! The breakfast I ordered via room service was disappointing however, the bacon came with mini chorizos and all tasted of the greasy chorizo. I was given scrambled eggs not fried or poached. No salt or pepper. Toast was white bread not brown. Fruit was uninteresting. Asked for a black coffee and received a small espresso. Orange juice was good but not chilled. However all the staff were friendly and helpful and overall I would rate this 4 star and a good value hotel for a short or business visit.
Suitable for a business trip
The hotel is conveniently located rather close to the airport. Large lobby, good service. Very spacious room with a kitchen and a very comfortable bed. The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and a top terrace with a bar (even if -unfortunately- I had not the time to pay a visit). The breakfast is a little bit poor in my opinion for such an hotel expect for the freshly squeezed orange juice and the tasty croissants. Car theme pervades the ambience.
One night business trip - happy to be leaving the hotel
The hotel was conveniently located for an event I had in Madrid but beware that it is in the middle of major roads and has absolutely no charm at all but this is not what you expect from this hotel. What you get and you expect in good wi-fi and responsive reception. These were good and helpful. They even came to pick me up the airport with free transfer, was a life saver as taxis are on strike in Madrid at the moment. However I hardly could not sleep this morning as someone took a shower at 6 am and it was extremely noisy. As I am speaking I hear someone snore like if this person was in my bed. Yesterday I was served a cheese sandwich with cheese that I would through away as too dry and old... the end of the cheese you see the kind? and I love manchego usually... The barmaid who prepared the sandwich was friendly but he made the sandwich to order and probably knew what he was putting (either had no choice or thought I would not mind as a tourist not speaking Spanish) The shower was the worst I ever had with cold (freezing) and hot (boiling dangerous) changes and no pressure to add to this. My scarf was also stolen in the lobby apparently no cameras to see who took it... How come they have 4 stars? It is more like a bad 3 stars. Sorry to say this but you need to redo the insonorisation and the shower system. I did not see roomservice menu although they claim to have this. My view was on a wall.... I like the fact the the floor is not carpet but wood. And when I asked for hangers because I had none they brought me some promptly.
