I am very satisfied with my two week stay in NH Hotel Balboa Madrid. The room is large, clean and very quiet. The staff and service are excellent. This is my third time in this hotel and would love to come back again soon. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Temperature too high in the entire hotel, bathroom could be better cleaned and creaky floors but, ABOVE ALL, very unhelpful people at the reception desk. We needed to make use of a computer and, not having a business center or simply a computer (more than surprising for a supposedly 4 star hotel), the two young woman refused to offer any help other than saying "you can do it with the mobile, I can show you". No more comments needed, I felt insulted (I am in my fifties and suppose they thought I was unable to use it!).

Clean, spacious and quiet. Nearby good restaurant and public transport.
Bed is comfortable, bathroom is spacious and with a warm heater for towel.
Service is friendly and quick. I ordered an ironer and it came in 2’.
Breakfast is delicious although quite expensive 18,5€
Beware of the reservation through the NH site

When making a reservation through internet, when the room of your choice is not available , the system changes automatically the dates.
Noticing the error and calling the hotel strait away, they offer a better room for a higher price and say they cancel the internet reservation. It was not cancelled, had to call again and after 3 employees got finally the front desk manager to sort it all out.
Arriving at the hotel, they proposed a standard room, we accepted but they still charged us the price for a better room explaining it because of the cancellation of the internet reservation !?!?!?

The hotel was nice & it has nice rooms however the room wasn’t clean. When we came in the floor had crumbs and when i saw the housekeeper outside, in the morning, to inform her that it wasn’t clean she gave me this rude attitude and it was as if i offended her in some way? Also, when i called to ask for a bag of ice, the person who answered told me to go get it myself from the restaurant downstairs.. being an NH hotel, i expected more to be honest. However, other than that, the receptionist was nice to make us check in earlier than stated in our reservation and the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the metro so that makes transportation easy & cheap!
