Nice hotel in the neighborhood
This is a nice place to rest for the night. Not fancy but we were not looking for luxe. Room was clean and as advertised. The price was right for this partbof Germany and the staff was helpful. No AC but the windows were more than enough even in early September. We enjoyed an evening stoll through the neighborhood. Reccomend for travelers interested in basic local fwel.
Best Hotel in Germany!
In [our] trip to Germany - that is!! We were on a budget tour of Germany this Easter. Whilst this hotel is slightly outside of Mainz town centre - there's a conveninet S-bahn round the corner (although trams can be infrequent]. reception were friendly, and there's coffee, bear and wine to be bought in reception. The room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were comfortable - and what more can you say of a hotel ? We slept exceptionally well! I would recommend for business or tourist travellers.
Budget hotel, you get for what you pay
On a 3 days seminar, I was looking for something not so expensive and not so far from my school. What press me to choose this solution was the name Garni but it happens to be the name only.. The place is located in a suburb from Mainz not far from the center. Use a navigator: there are a lot of one-way roads and without it will be difficult to arrive. The hotel has seen better times but is clean. Personal mostly friendly. Furniture in wood, and all a bit démodé. Room key is also hotel entrance key and you need it with you as at 10 PM the door get closed and no more concierge service. The room is clean and a bit Spartan .. A plus of 7€ and you can enjoy the breakfast. Breakfast room and food were a pleasent surprise: good assortment, all fresh and a nice room too. First evening broke the lamp in the bath, I survived without as 11 PM, but after advising in the morning, in the evening all was ok again. Must underline the courtesy of the owner, as just I asked for a one way shaver, I get it immediately and free of charge. As minus, the terminal to pay per credit card was broken and they accepted only cash (so I had to take money from the cash dispenser in a bank 2 Km away) Is not a big deal, but you get a clean place and a good breakfast, free parking and free (slow) wi-fi not so far from the center. Not to forget: behind the hotel is running the tram that bring you until the railway station.
very clean but not recomended for the late sleepers
I have been there for five nights .It has very clean rooms but the reception smells sigaret smoke .The receptionist did not speak English enough to comunicate with us ,many off the words in his answers was in German. Carpet was new and clean ,the bed was also very comfortable but the curtains was awful from another century. We could hear every noise from nearby room .There is a tram station 3 minutes away on foot but not for early hours so if you want to have a late night out you have to pay 15,40 euro in a taxi driver to peak you from the central train station to the hotel .There is not any restaurant or fast food nearby not even a supermarket but hotel provides a coin machine to have a coffee or a snack.Reception is closed after 10:00 a.m. and you must open the central hotel door by your room key,be careful don't miss your keys. There is not elevator to carry your suitcases and the room has only one mirror .
Nice hotel with friendly staff
I stayed in a triple room with husband and kid. The room was spatious and clean. The hotel is very close to the tram station so you can be in the city center in 10-15 minutes. Good restaurants and wine cellars in the area. Breakfast was average but the day we left they were kind enough to prepare the breakfast to go. We enjoyed our stay there.
