Excellent expensive
Stayed in Finca Son Serra for a week and it was a perfect time to relax. Owners are very nice people, always eager to help. But what impressed me the most is food! It was super delicious! Highly recommend this hotel to have a rest from a city, to be closer to nature and to refill your energy.
Splendid Holiday
A warm welcome got us off to a good start. Room was spacious and well equipped with nice decoration and modern bathroom. Full of character. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. Unexpectedly we found our selves eating the set meal each evening due to the excellent value and outstanding quality. Close to Michelin quality in our opinion. Pool was welcome after hot days out and about. The staff were excellent and very attentive. This is a German based hotel and we were the only British people there for most of the week but the friendliness of the other guests and general ambience meant this wasn't any problem at all. Suspect we'll be back at some point in the future. Thanks Dieter - you've got it all right.
Beautiful location and first class restaurant and service
We found this restaurant near to where we were staying and it is just wonderful. It is a country hotel which caters primarily for German guests but we were warmly welcomed and the food is excellent - they do a daily Set Menu for 26 Euros in addition to their A La carte selection. The fish and meat were excellent, good selection of wines. Lovely romantic setting under the pine trees - but be aware you need to spray as there were a lot of mosquitos ! Lovely quiet and calm oasis. Hotel is run by Dieter & Irina who are warm and affable hosts. Their attention to detail was first-class. Looks like a great place to stay too as there is a nice pool and they also have horses... Well worth a visit ... you will not be disappointed.
A little oasis five minutes away from playa de muro
Please note that our review reflects our personal view and experience and does not constitute in any way a qualified opinion. We spent a long weekend with our family of five in the Finca Predio Son Serra. It’s the right place if you are looking to relax and switch off. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and palm trees it feels like being on a little island on its own. You slowdown from the moment you enter the Finca environment. Mr Süssmann, the owner which has been running this place for decades is very kind and very reserved at the same time. The airport ride from Palma was around 45 minutes and it was easy to find (with a navigator). We decided to have half board which included breakfast and dinner. The rich breakfast is very varied with a selection of fresh fruits, yogurt, all kind of bread and ham and salami. The coffee was unfortunately soluble coffee and one had to pay extra if he wanted a Nespresso coffee which is also not the greatest coffee but would have been a little extra. Breakfast is served until 12:00 which is normally not an option in most of the hotels and is an added benefit if you have time and you want to get up late. Dinner (which starts at 20:00) is cooked by a local resident Francisca and served by very kind and helpful waitresses at the table. Francisca must be the sweetest and kindest persons I have met on the island. She always prepared separately our baby food and on the last day she even gave us a baby-soup for the road as she knew we would have been around all day before flying back home. Thank you Francisca, it was very much appreciated! Dinner was always tasty except one night where unfortunately the paella was oversalted. Otherwise we enjoyed eating all fresco every night except the mosquitos which were a real nuisance. Take some mosquito repellent with you!! One more thing. If you are vegetarian, vegan or have any allergy the hosts will go an extra mile to ensure your requirements are met. Our room was nice, basic but clean. There was also a nice fruit basket and a bottle of wine as welcoming gift. However let’s face it if you are looking for a modern or a boutique-like environment this is not the place to be. The only flaw about the room was the missing shower gel for body or hair which was only provided on the first day. This is something I would expect on a daily basis even in a Finca. The sleeping quality I would consider from my point of view as average. Finally there is a nice outside pool which we used once and the water was at an acceptable temperature for the month of May. All in all I can only recommend this little oasis and would definitely consider coming back if was again in Mallorca.
Place for individuals that expect the little extra plus in food
We got aware of this place by a recemmentation of a friend. We never ever would have found this place by coincidence as this place is not easy to find. Anyway, it is worth searching for it. We were there for dinner. The atmosphere is very exclusive, the place is relatively small and reservation is recommended. The food is excellent. In particular the rabbit. This place also has excellent lanb to offer but you need to notify beforehand to ensure it was on the shoping list of the restaurant that day. This is also one of th rare places that offer zabajone for dessert. This is delicious and different to the normal one. This is enriched by Champagne and slices of orange. A new experience fo me but certainly a good one. So, when you pass by Muro around evening timeframe this is a place to stop by. This place also has some rooms. in case you feel too tired to get to you hotel you can stay over night.
