More about the hotel
Haven of Peace
Charming and ideally located hotel. Spotless rooms, friendly & caring staff AND super nice pool is always welcome to relax after a day exploring the island. Difficult to leave so ended up extending my stay! ;)
Short stay, ok room
Stayed for just 1 night. Hotel was not beachfront but was just a couple-of-minute-walk to the beach. Got welcome drinks upon check in. Standard Premium room on 2nd floor was spacious enough, with a balcony overlooking the reception area/restaurant/pool. Bathroom was nice - had a bidet, basic toiletries, hot & cold shower with ample water pressure. No tv so you will really be encouraged to go out and find stuff to do.
Convenient Location, Great Pool
Lovely staff always pleasant, good selection for breakfast however nice mango on 1st day afterwards half a banana 4 days and a full banana 1 day. You make your own coffee in packets brought to table. Nice to have a welcome drink on arrival, the pool is deep and long enough to do laps. Pleasant garden and surrounds and a village market 5-10 minutes walk. Close (400 metres) to pier and beach landing for bangka boats from Maya ports. Meals are large servings and good quality.
Nice pool and location
Good location near restaurants (Villa Sandra, burger junction and the night market). Nice pool and surrounding area. Rooms were basic but clean. Good A/C Pillows were really big and like rocks and we both had sore necks. WiFi wasn't great. You're better to buy a sim card in the Philippines. Breakfast was average. Big thick pancakes but eggs were undercooked a couple of times and my veggie soup had meat in it one day. (But was fine the others). We didn't dive here. Would stay again.
Nice place to stay!
In between scuba sessions, I think I walked the whole island (rather untidy sadly..) and having seen the different levels of accommodation on offer, I think I can safely say that this is probably one of the best, all-round places you can get. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s nice to hang out at the pool and read or just chill on the balcony/porch. The food on offer at the restaurant (including breakfast..) is as good, if not better than anywhere else I ate, the prices are comparable and It’s only a short walk from the boat pier. I had air conditioning but I have to say I didn’t use it much, the fans are sufficient. The one gripe I have is the Wi-fi, it was so hit and miss and this didn’t seem to be the case in other cafes or restaurants. Having a good connection in this day and age enables some travelers, like me, to catch up with work AND travel at the same time, I found I could rarely do anything and I had to stand in the corner of the room closest to reception to get any signal. Overall it’s a very relaxing resort that actually forces those of us with busy, western lives to switch off.
