Sunstone at Juniper Springs

Reviewed 15 january, 2022

Our family stayed at the Ski-in/ski-out condos above Juniper Springs. It's the best location we have ever rented, and we've been over ten times. It's a true ski-in/ski-out. The place has lockers downstairs, you grab your gear, put your boots on, open the door, walk 15 yards, and you are on the slope. Unlike Canyon or Village, starting your day at Eagle iso s easy and quick. You can avoid the lunch crowds if you want and ski right back to your place, eat, rest, and start back up in the afternoon. It was terrific working with Nicole as my dates changed 3times in a week. She was patient and understanding and accommodated an extraordinary request. Nicole took great care of us. She is the expert.

The location was perfect (this IS in fact ski in-ski out, you only need to walk on the side walk and take a few steps to get onto the lift right next to the building, then ski right back down to the building). Given the current state of COVID what's most important to me is convenience, service, and cleanliness and they nailed all three. Plus easy access parking, secure code equipment lockers, and a free shuttle van into town (very helpful to avoid parking in town if you a car). Kitchen, Fireplace, Balcony. Special shout out to Jonah, Milena and Deja for making me feel like a returning VIP guest with every interaction. The Mammoth crowd (LA and SoCal infused) isn't my scene (I live in the snobbery and would rather not ski with it) but this staff countered that element with their hospitality and made me feel welcomed. Thanks and I recommend!

Winter storms

Reviewed 10 january, 2022

Our family decided to take a last minute trip to mammoth during the holidays when a storm was approaching. We showed up to juniper springs and got stuck in the driveway. The late night workers Chewy ,Denzel,Kristin and Allison came out, and shoveled/pushed my car into the garage! ( 5 star service!) Through out stay mammoth closed the lifts over over again due to wind leaving us bored. At night though the shuttle driver peter was able to take us around town even in the terrible snow conditions allowing the adults to have some late night fun. On the last day mammoth had all the lifts running so naturally we did not want to leave. Sergio at the front was able to find us another room at a ok price understanding that we had missed two days of skiing due to wind. Thanks guys we will be back. Gracias - Adin

Dated rooms and inconsistent service

Reviewed 4 january, 2022

This is definetly not worth the money they are charging. The rooms we stayed in was very outdated and small. We had reserved a 2 bedroom room facing the slopes but unfortunately that is not what we got when we checked in. The rooms were were shown are not at all like the pictures on the website. First room we were shown had outdated furniture and a view of a wall of snow. Second room also had dated furniture (fabric couches and an old dusty carpet) but it had partial pool so atleast you didnt feel claustrophobic. Coffee shop near the lobby was closed 2 of the 4 days. No sign of why it is closed or anything. The days it was actually open, it closed down at 11am and the reason given for this erratic schedule was due to lady who managed the coffee shop is short staffed. Also, room servicing is very very erratic. You have to call multiple times and request your room to be cleaned. We had requested our room to be cleaned while we were out on the mountain or in town every day, but they never came during the period we were not there. Once the cleaning crew does show up, it's a crap shoot if they will clean your room while you are there. Some staff are willing to clean the room quickly while you are sitting on the couch, but we had an unfortunate experience with a rude cleaning supervisor that wanted us to bring the trash and dirty towels out to the hall way for her...totally unacceptable. I called the front desk and spoke with the manager who said its up the cleaning crew members discretion if they are willing to enter the room while it is occupied. Location of the property being next to the lift is the best thing going for it....but you can definetly find other accomodations that are nicer for the price they are charging.

Another great stay at Juniper Springs Resort

Reviewed 3 january, 2022

Once again our family had an amazing time at Mammoth by staying at the best place to stay in Mammoth. Juniper Springs Resort always delivers and is the most convenient place to stay on the entire mountain. From a skiers perspective Eagle is less prone to wind, holds a crowd better and has easy access to the entire mountain. We also can't say enough about the staff, especially Nicole, who is always there to make our experience better. We can't wait to stay there in 2022! -Mike
