Clean hotel, good service, good location

Hotel is very close to Manchester Arena and Victoria train station, a short easy walk to shopping, entertainment and nightlife. The hotel and the room were very clean and nicely decorated and the bar was comfortable and relaxing. There is paid parking very close to the hotel, or free parking just 5-10 mins walk away, which is the option we took. We only needed a place to sleep at the end of the night, following our walk to the Christmas markets, so this fit the bill perfectly, however I would be happy to have spent more time in the hotel itself. We did not try the food as we needed to leave early the following morning, but the breakfast offer looked very reasonable.
Clean and very tidy the manager on the night was excellent 😊

Where do I start ! , stayed for one night and NEVER AGAIN !. The staff were great, well except one who walked past us 3 times and ignored my wife and I trying to gain access through the door to from reception to the lifts but the door lock decides to stop working so it wasn't until another member of staff from the bar asked the previousmentioned staff member to help he did. Then get to the room 101 disabled room right above reception so all night and day you hear the reception door banging and voices , not one complete hour of sleep. The room had a long crack in the toilet bowl which wasn't leaking but made you feel uncomfortable sitting on it incase it breaks, toilet door handle broken so the door wouldn't stay shut, bathroom light not working only the spotlights. Breakfast , just don't bother , the bacon was like leather, the tomatoes weren't cooked correctly neither the mushrooms, the juice bar(ha-ha-ha) coloured water with absolutely no taste. Evening meal we ordered garlic bread topped with mozzarella cheese, when it came it was 2 half's of bread rolls together with red Leicester trapped in the middle, the 12 inch pizza (margarita) was a 9 inch topping of tomato sauce with some cheese on and a 2 inch dry crust round the edge.im sorry but I have stopped in alot of travelodges and found it very hard to find much wrong but this one NEVER NEVER AGAIN.
Worst hotel in the entire fleet!

Dreadful experience. Had provided detailed feedback on Travelodge website with confirming that the review would be published on TripAdvisor! However have just realised that they never published it. This is wrong and by withholding negative reviews it makes a mockery of the hotel ratings! So we prebooked two rooms, a double for my wife and I, a twin for our two teenage girls. Upon arrival the reception was look warm to say the least, but we were given adjacent rooms and off we went. The twin room wasn’t a twin! We went back to reception and we were told that they “don’t have twin rooms!” and it could be worse as “those two blokes over there have the same problem and they are on a business trip!”. What sort of response was that? The hotel decor was dated, drab and incredibly noisy. Our stay was dreadful. The staff didn’t care. The only slight ray of sunshine came from the little lady single-handedly trying to run the breakfast shift in the morning. She smiled despite the impossible odds. So in summary, don’t ever stay here. This must be the worst hotel in the entire Travelodge fleet. Never, ever, ever again!
Good overall, but very no frills

Have stayed here in recent years as it's usually the cheapest chain hotel within a 2 minute walking distance of the city centre. It was spotlessly clean and the breakfast food was fine. The staff were friendly in greeting but didn't seem to want to have abit of banter or chit chat. I suppose it's just a city thing. I always request a top floor room at the back of the hotel where it's quietest and it was no trouble at all to get what I asked for. The only downside was the shower pressure was abit naff, the headboard light strip bulb had blown and the TV remote was on it's last legs. I slept fine both nights however. Constructive feedback would be to periodically do inventory checks to make sure everything works in the rooms. Oh and the windows could really do with a regular clean too, but I imagine that's difficult to arrange regularly with the hotel being 6 storeys tall and hundreds of windows to clean.
