Awesome Stay

An awesome place to stay if you are visiting Mandalay. Affordable rate with top of the class service, friendly as well as helpful staffand wonderful hospitality. It's is situated in the middle of many tourist places and eatery in Mandalay. Aplace where you can easily access taxies, thonebane and train. Overall, it was an awesome stay abd its highly recommended.

Decent hotel, nice staff

No real problem to report about the hotel. It's a little old and worn but perfectly fine otherwise. Free WiFi is available and it's located close to a supermarket and shopping mall. Breakfast is included and contains a mix of Asian cuisine and more western fare such as cereal.

A rather run-down hotel

The shower (I'm on the 4th floor) - water pressure is really low, so the hot water can be too hot or too cold within a minute. Room small with basic facilities, 2 out of 3 power points malfunction, and so is the kettle. Cleaningness ok,but towels are old (they are still white though). Breakfast basic spread, and there's no egg station (omellete served though, but no sunny side up). I stayed here as it's part of the ground tour arrangement. So would I choose Oway? I dun think so.

This hotel was a cut above, by comparison with many other establishments that we stayed in on our recent tour around Myanmar. Whilst we didn't enjoy scenic views from our room, the amenities were quite reasonable save for the hot water (taking up to 4 -5 minutes to get hot) and the standard gripe regarding internet access. The rooms were generous in size and clean and comfortable, the service very good and the buffet breakfast expansive and plentiful. The hotel was well situated in the heart of the city and within walking distance of many retail outlets and restaurants.

Average place lacking in maintenance

The hotel looks great online but upon checking into the room you notice poor maintenance, cheap and worn out materials. In my room I searched for half an hour for find switches to turn off the lights at night. Had to call the front desk to get help. It is an ok hotel for the money but there is much better at the same price or less.
