An enjoyable stay.

Tucked away at the end of the main street. Good real ale but no food at night. However we knew this when we booked so that fine. Pleasant room in the stables. Good breakfast. Stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. We would definitely go again and there were other visitors who came back regularly

Comfortable Stay

Stayed one night, period property, so uneven and creaky floors. Comfortable bed but room quite small, TV tiny. Nice shower with complimentary toiletries. The room is above a pub, so expect some noise. Not disruptive and as we stayed on a Monday night, over by 10.30. Breakfast was excellent but offered 08.30 to 10.00 and we would have liked an earlier start.

We spent a week here with our dog and had a really wonderful time. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, our dog was made so welcome & made himself completely at home! The room was nice, clean and very comfortable. They keep a great pint - 6X was delicious - and food was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable, relaxed stay….thank you. Sarah, Andrew & Hobbes

Nice room at reasonable cost.

We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in the area. As we like a big room, even though there were only two of us we booked the family room. It had a double bed and two singles. The furniture in the room appeared to be antique. This is not a complaint as we liked it. It was in keeping with the pub and the town itself. The beds were comfy. The bathroom (shower room) was clean and fairly modern, and there were sufficient towels. No conditioner provided though, but there was a kettle for making a cup of tea or coffee. The young French girl who cooked breakfast for us was very polite and friendly and the breakfast was absolutely fine. The pub itself had a nice outside seating area and seemed to be very popular. The only possible problem would be parking; there wasn't any. We managed to find a last spot after 5pm in front of the hotel, but you could only park there for up to two hours; not a problem for us as we were only staying one night. All in all very good value and a pleasant stay.

Stayed a couple of nights for our wedding anniversary. Lovely pub with lots of character. Staff friendly and made you feel very at home. Great they are dog friendly and they were brilliant with our rescue who can be a nervous grump with other dogs. Lovely breakfast. Thanks for a great stay. Right in the centre. Nearby forest great for dog walks. You can park outside for a couple of hours (then between 6pm and 8am) or longer stay cars parks for £6.70 for the day/overnight. Lots of lovely pubs and wateries and locals were very friendly.
