Good and Bad.
My girlfriend and I stayed here for two weeks between 14th-28th September after our trip to Rhodes was cancelled due to quarantine restrictions in Scotland. We were very apprehensive about visiting after reading some of the reviews beforehand but it certainly wasn’t the hell hole we were expecting. I’ll start with the good - The food is great and plentiful, with the pool snack bar being our favourite. I read a few people complaining about the main buffet restaurant and the lack of variety, but truthfully there was plenty to choose from and I really don’t know what else people expect from a holiday that caters to British tourists. Curry, chips and rice go a long way. The variety of drinks was also good and definitely got our money’s worth in that area. The pool area is large with plenty to do and as much as the sun beds were almost all took up by 8am each morning, we usually did manage to find some each day. The bad - The cleaning of the rooms was very poor indeed. Our bed sheets were only changed once and our pillow cases were not changed for the entire duration of our stay despite us asking the maid to do this on a number of occasions. I’m not usually one to complain about the standards of housekeeping, but I’m not sure she actually did anything else other than sweep the floor. For a two week stay I would have expected better. I was also left with a bitter taste in my mouth on our final day (yesterday) when we had checked out of our room but decided to stay and use the facilities in the complex until our transfer coach arrived - which everyone is entitled to do. After spending some time at the pool, I went to reception to ask if we could borrow some clean towels to have a shower (as they have shower room facilities) but the guy on reception told me he “ wouldn’t be giving me” towels and that I was to “ use my own”. I explained that we didn’t have towels as we had checked out of our room earlier in the day, and were merely looking to borrow or even hire some to have a shower quickly before we left. The guy blatantly refused to provide me with towels, and when I went to the spa facilities in the complex to ask for some afterwards they told me I should go back up to reception as they are the ones who normally provide this and couldn’t understand why the receptionist was not doing so. I then went back to the guy at reception who’s attitude was absolutely appalling, asking me what I did not understand about the situation and stating again that he “ was not giving me towels”. I found the whole situation bizarre as it was a simple request that most other hotels would have catered for, and I was really infuriated by his attitude. I ended up asking a maid who was cleaning one of the blocks for two clean towels which she happily provided me with and allowed us to have a shower, but the hotel really need to tighten up on the attitude of some of the reception staff as his in particular was a disgrace. That being said, the majority of our stay was hassle/drama free, and it was good to get away and still have a holiday during the current pandemic. Two other things I should note is that the entertainment team are more for families with kids rather than couples or older adults, which was fine with us as we prefer going out but best to note if you’re looking to spend the majority of your night in the hotel. Lastly - as a few recent reviews have stated - we did witness a number of physical and verbal altercations within the complex involving multiple families, however I’m not sure how you can solely blame the hotel for this when they can’t be in control of everyone’s actions - particularly when intoxicated. The individuals involved were the only ones responsible and only gave themselves a showing up. That being said, met some lovely people during our stay and most were there to have a good time and a relaxing holiday. We enjoyed our holiday but probably wouldn’t return to the same hotel as have been to Marmaris many times and there are much better options. Robert and Lee.
Perfect family friendly hotel.
The entertainment in the hotel was fantastic and perfect for kids. Every member of staff gave our 3 year old real genuine attention regularly, thats in the restaurant, the kids club, the reception and the entertainment staff all made a fuss and couldn't do enough for all of us. The quality of food for an all inclusive was more than we expected. We had to pay for wifi and for a second we thought about complaining until we reminded ourselves about how cheap we got the hotel for. £20 for a week is nothing when your paying so little for an all inclusive holiday. They dealt with covid extremely well all over the hotel So we felt very safe. All in all i can say quite honestly that this hotel is the best all inclusive i have ever been to. And our 3 year old son hasnt shut up about the place since we left. 10/10 from all 3 of us!
Lovely 2 weeks holiday
We came 6th sept till 20th with a family of 7. Ages 11 14 16 16 21 and 35 32. We all had a fabulous holiday we did come 2018 and again loved it that's why we returned. Reading reviews I'm shocked at some bad comments PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY DURING A PANDEMIC OUT OF EVERYONE'S CONTROL. So yes things are slightly different Food is on reduced side as they can't have the staff in kitchens like before they have to serve you. They are doing there best and they do it well under the pressure. The staff where welcoming and friendly if you ask and talk with respect you get it back. My son 11 has asd with massive sensory issues. I spoke to staff about this and they cooked him plain chicken wings every night and fresh hot pancakes in the snack bar they would do him a plain cheese pizza when asked. Being polite and patient get you far. We did eat out a few nights but so cheap it was nice. Rooms done us fine we had 4 in one room and was perfect to wash and sleep who's goes to Turkey to stay in the room. Cleaner was lovely if u keep Yr room tidy they can get in to clean. Entertainment is the highlight for sure. brilliant sence of homour very very welcoming always on hand for help. Even when you had the odd drunk trying to cause and issue they step in quick and get issue resolved and you wouldn't see the same with that person again it was delt with. The hotel can't control who books in the hotel but they deal with issues well. We had a laugh avoided people we thought wasn't behaving the hotel Is big enough and you can't get on with everyone A few issues cropped up but I explained and Denis the manager always so carm and sorted for us. If you speck and communicate well they will do anything to solve it. Half of the bad comments are blown out of perportion. Yes got busy because Greece Spain holidays cancelled and people came very last min. Please take what you read lightly and remember alot of people only review for a moan. Best fun for kids and adults the entertainment team are fabulous and gokem works mainly in the pool side bar is so sweet polite nothing is a problem. Half the time I didn't leave my seat he was waiting on everyone getting drinks cleaning also chatting and making the kids laugh. Staff are amazing with what they put up with and work very long hours and made us feel at home. So much I miss already and going back oct 15th
Just came back from our family holiday. Never been to Turkey before so it was new to us all. We all enjoyed every minute at Julian club Hotel. Food was good there was always something that we liked. Drinks was good. All staff was friendly and made you welcome especially the entertainment staff they was good with everyone. Never laughed so much. I would definitely go back to this hotel
Entertainment team are the best!
Our holiday to Greece was cancelled last minute and so we booked Turkey as this was one of the only places we could go without having to quarantine on our return to the U.K. We had never even thought of visiting Turkey before but we were pleasantly surprised! On arrival at the hotel the reception staff seemed unorganised and there were lots of unhappy guests in the lobby so understandably this wasn’t a good first impression. We were told we had to pay 200 lira per device for WiFi for 7 days which was unexpected as you would have thought WiFi would be free if an all inclusive 4 star hotel. We did purchase the WiFi but it was so bad it was a complete waste of money. We were also staying for 10 days so it ran out before the end of our holiday. The room was spacious but a little outdated. We had a fridge, TV, free aircon and very large balcony. The maid came in everyday although she didn’t seem to clean she just made the bed and emptied the bin. The only time you had to wear a mask was in the main restaurant. Breakfast was quite poor. The sausages were hot dogs and there was very little selection. The queue for the drinks at breakfast was absolutely ridiculous you would wait around 10 minutes each morning! There was a lot of variety for lunch and dinner and a good choice of snacks are available from the pool bar throughout the day. Ice cream is also included on the all inclusive. Various cocktails, beer and vodka are included as well. The hotel offers midnight soup between 11.30pm and 12am which we always attended because the soup was delicious! The most annoying part of the holiday was the queues for the drinks at the pool bar throughout the day which you were often standing in for over 15 minutes. Only one person works on the bar at a time. There was a large table of people who must regularly attend the hotel as they would demand drinks to be brought to their table without having to queue. Pool staff would then push to the front of the queue to get them drinks which would cause even further delays for those who were actually stood queuing. It just didn’t seem fair that everyone had paid the same money and some had to queue and some got drinks brought to their table! Further, on a night time this particular group became very rowdy. The hotel is in a brilliant location and there are lots of shops and restaurants around. Blue Port and the Grand Bazaar is in walking distance or it costs just 35 lira in a taxi. We did lots of activities whilst we were there such as scuba diving and quad biking which only cost around £15 each which is great value for money. If you want a sunbed you have to be up to reserve one between 8.30 and 9.00am as the pool area gets very busy. There are two pools, a children’s pool and two water slides which are great fun. Lastly the entertainment team are amazing! Jay, Alex and Poppy are an absolute credit to the hotel. They do dances around the pool, aqua aerobics, water polo, darts competitions etc during the day to keep everyone entertained. On a night they do various things such as bingo and there are entertainments shows on. You don’t have to leave the hotel on a night as there is plenty of entertainment. The hotel wouldn’t be the same without the entertainment team and they are the main reason we would return to Julian Club next year!
