Getting back on it's feet

Reviewed 17 october, 2021

It is nearly two years (Octobe2019) since I last visited -three trips I had planned planned for 2020 I had to cancel. i understand the Hotel was closed for nearly ten months last year. It was nice to be back. They have kept a large number of their staff, and I received a very warm welcome from them. Some rooms have been upgraded and they look very nice with modern touches, and are extremely comfortable, but they are not in the traditional Moroccan style of the older rooms (which I prefer) They are getting back on their feet after the pandemic, but their food offering for breakfast and dinnner was not up to the pre-pandemic days, which was excellent then. Hence me not awarding the full five stars. I hope they can get back to their previous standard quickly. The Diwane continues to offer excellent value for money, being in the city centre and near lots of shops and fine dining. And of course their friendly and helpful staff make a holiday. I hope to go back soon.

Fantastic value for money

At £25 per night (booked on Agoda) for a double I can't argue. Very nice pool and spacious room with balcony. Large bathroom with bathtub and good water pressure. Fridge was very cold. TV had news and movie channels. Aircon was adequate but a little rattly at night. Large balcony with 2 chairs and a table. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Judging by the the frequency of the kitchen the food is good and not overpriced. A glass of 500ml of local beer was D45. The Hotel has seen better days but is still grand enough to be a four star. For value for money I cannot criticise. The location is good with a carrafour supermarket nearby and local restaurants. The local bus 1 takes you straight to Jamaa Sqaure for D4. Taxi to airport around D70-D100. The breakfast I thought was a little expensive for what you get but there are plenty of choice outside the Hotel

Worst Hotel Ever! Stay away !!!

First experience ever, dirty rooms , Personal Sold US Fake Services we paid 580 dirhams for a travel that does Not exist. And when we complained they told us IT IS Not Our Problem. Food was disguisting and expenive exept in the morning when you can Take some Croissants and Coffee. Personal so unpolite, they were litteraly insulting us in marrocan language thinking that I do Not understand the language (because my wife is european). Rooms are Very unsafe and Hotel does Not Take any Responsability If Simeone Steals anything from your Hotel Room. They followed us even Outside because we asked for Our Money Back because of the scam travel they are selling. Someone told us He is the Brother of the director then the director himself then appeared to be someone who works with the Hotel people illegally scaming guests.
