More about the hotel
A nice quiet if somewhat quirky place to stay.
We wished to visit the Bavarian Forest NP whilst on a tour and this place caught our eye. Booking was easy and the welcome warm. We have a very nice room and the breakfasts were buffet style and very adequate. Rolls and Yoghurt/jams etc., plus the usual Germanic cold meats and cheeses. (Despite Peter's affectation with all things Scottish there was no Haggis or black puddings on offer Lol) We were offered supper snacks if we did not wish to go out to eat although there are some restaurants in the village. The supper snacks were more than adequate although of necessity limited in variety. Alcohol was supplied on the honesty system of keeping a note. The bedroom was spacious and en suite and all fittings appeared new and clean. Parking was available in a large underground garage. Everywhere was decorated on the Scottish theme and Peter even sported several kilts such is his enthusiasm. Several nice places in the area and we would love to return for longer stay next time.
Scotish stingy food
We have traveled with photofriends in Bavarian forest. The location is not quite near it. But we couldn't make our choise. The room was pretty arranged. But the trouble is food. Breakfast was included with sleeping. We had to order dinner separatly 15€ per person. It's not so low price for so poor food. The first evening, we have got veretable soup and some sorts of salami and cheese. Better sorts were in really low quantities and run short very soon. I don't think it's a normal dinner for a normal price. Dinner on second evening was grill. Some sorts of meal in low quantities for 30 people. If you were not very fast, you have got cheap sausages. That was all. And some salat. Similar Scottish was situation for breakfast. We have got 5 rolls with corn for 30 people. It was not possible to get more. Otherwise you could get cheap white bread. Once more some cheap salami and cheese. They do not know cocoa. Just coffee and tea. So, one advice. If you choose Scottish restaurant, keep in mind, that it will be Scottish from all points of wiev. Also the stingy food.

Lovely and friendly place to stay
Peter and Grit offer a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. They are ever helpful and give you very good suggestions of things to do and see. The breakfast offered is really excellent, with varios fresh meats, cheeses and bread. Grit also bakes lovely cake. Peter does a great BBQ accompanied by good salads and conversation. As a tribute to them and the area, we booked for one night and stayed here for ten: the whole of our holiday. The walking is fantastic and the excellent bus service makes getting out and about very easy. The bed is exceedingly comfortable and makes for a good night's rest after a long day's walk. In short,Peter and Grit go the extra mile to ensure your comfort.
Exceeding expectations
Clean and silent accomodation with very professional and friendly staff. Also very nice location as a base for exploring of Bavarian forest beauties. We were completely satisfied and all our expectations have been exceeded.
