Under renovation-no notice
I was very disappointed with my stay. I just road tripped from Massachusetts with family and we stayed at 4 other La Quinta properties along the way. Each of these was an improvement to McAlester. No mention was made that the property was undergoing renovation. The lobby and my floor were unfinished. No amenities were available, not even a vending machine or coffee in my room. Tv did not work. And no COVID protocols were being followed (maskless front desk agent, no signage communicating guest behavior expectation). I had to carry my dog in and out after he was injured by stepping on some construction debris. At the very least, a steep discount for the room and waiver of the pet fee should have been offered. I would not recommend this location in the future and might not recommend any La Quinta at all.
Weekend break
I had seen the reviews saying the hotel is under construction so I wasn’t surprised- however it is under a lot of construction. The front lobby is really torn up, the pool is full of construction materials and closed and due to Covid they can’t serve breakfast. Our room was on the 4th floor. Half of the floor is closed and being renovated. The side we were on I guess is next and desperately needs it. The room itself was clean and the beds were ok, just some minor wall damage. If you can overlook things it wasn’t bad for just one night to sleep. On check in the man came out and put a mask on. At checkout the lady wasn’t wearing a mask and there was nothing separating us except for the mask I had on. Wasn’t impressed that they aren’t taking the pandemic more seriously.
Best hotel in McAlester
I work and have stayed at this hotel since February. It has very good management and clean rooms. Breakfast is good and fresh every morning. Great hotel. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
Exceptional Customer Service!
Autumn at the front desk went over and above from the time we checked in up until we checked out, She was very polite and helpful! We booked two different rooms and had some special circumstances and she was extremely accommodating!
Total destruction! Doesn’t seem safe for guests!!
First of all this location of La Quinta brands NO longer allows pets to stay for free. We were charged $20 per pet. Our hotel room door would not close securely when we would leave the room. You could push the door open. A dirty mask was found in our room. The lobby was so ripped apart it didn’t seem like it was safe for guests to be walking through. The clerk at the desk did not practice any sanitary guidelines. None of the construction or pet fees were indicated on the website so we were stuck with our reservation 😡. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel like the plaque!!! My concerns were discussed with the front desk clerk and immediately dismissed and ignored. Horrible experience!!
