Hidden Jewel
We stayed at Port D' Hiver from 2/16-2/19/21 and I wish it would've been much longer. I'm currently in cancer treatment and this was the first time we've gone away since the pandemic started. We had always stayed at large resorts but with the virus we opted to stay small for the first time and we loved it. Following CDC guidelines is very important for me and the staff did an amazing job of making us feel very safe. Port D'Hiver was nice when we drove up but once you go outside you really see the beauty of the property and it's gorgeous. If you love charm, history and mixing the old with the new this is the place for you. The staff and owner treats you better than family. The food is amazing. The breakfast was delectable, home made treats like the giant sized chocolate chip cookies, wine hour mini cakes and muffins are so delicious. We constantly thanked the chef. The property is across the street from the beach and A1A is pretty busy so you need to cross at the crosswalk. The b & b has all the beach equipment you need and a wagon to pack it all in. They think of everything. They have 24 hour snack bar with chips, soda, water, etc and my favorite area besides our room (Walter's Suite) was the zen garden area with a waterfall at the hot tub, lush tropical greenery and outdoor area. It's beautiful and very tranquil. I definitely recommend staying here and we will be back.
Amazing getaway w my husband!
I struggle to put into words how amazing our experience was at Port d’Hiver. 10/10 recommend!! It was everything I had been expecting and MORE. We stayed 2 nights in the Sunrise room. We enjoyed the private ocean-view balcony every morning for the delicious gourmet breakfasts and various other times of day and night as well- just simply having a drink, talking and enjoying the view. The entire place is immaculately clean with extra measures taken due to the pandemic. The heated pool and large hot tub were used daily by us- absolutely loved both. Having a heated pool was important to me since we came in February. We enjoyed soaking up the ambiance in the brick laden courtyards, staring up at the palms and tropical trees. The fire pit is a nice touch and we ordered a take-out pizza one night and ate it by the fire. Loved the nightly happy hour that was delivered to our room - included your choice of a beer or wine and a plate of yummy snacks/ hors devours. The level of hospitality and care is top notch. We literally didn’t want to or need to leave the entire three days we were here. It’s your own private tropical oasis. Really appreciated how private it felt. A lot of times we were the only ones in the pool or hot tub! I’m already dreaming of coming back to this amazing slice of paradise!
I wish I could live here!
I just returned from my third stay at Port d'Hiver. I've stayed in the Sunrise Room, Yellow Room, and most recently, Charlotte's Room. All of the rooms are wonderfully decorated and cozy, but Charlotte's Room is hands down the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in anywhere. Period! From the spacious bedroom and bathroom, to the oceanview balcony, to the lavish king-sized canopy bed, Charlotte's Room spoiled me. The food is outstanding - the cookies (I have tried and failed to replicate!), the happy hour on my oceanview balcony, and the breakfast in the courtyard are all delicious! The service is unparalleled - the staff truly aims to please. The facilities are kept meticulously clean. The hot tub/pool was a great way to relax after an active day at the beach, as was the fire pit as the sun went down. Everything about all of my experiences at Port d'Hiver leaves me wanting more. I can't wait for my next stay!
Perfect stay!
We really enjoyed our stay at your beautiful inn! The grounds and gardens are beautiful! So many lovely areas to sit and relax. We stayed in the yellow room which was beautifully decorated, super clean, cozy, and had everything you could need during your stay. Really nice touch to have music playing in the room upon arrival, and best cookies ever! The in room happy hour with assorted cheeses, dips and veges was a nice treat. Breakfast was amazing! A yummy assortment of anything you could want. Best french toast we have ever had! The owners and staff have thought of everything and taken care of all the details.
Beyond belief
This place is truly an anomaly and beyond belief. Every single person on the staff goes out of their way to make you feel special and wanted. The amenities are beyond anything we have ever experienced at any facility and we stay at numerous Ritz Carltons. Wonderful experience!!
