More about the hotel
Other than the parking...
Loved nearly everything to do with my stay except finding out just before arrival that I had to park two blocks away. They need much better information on the booking website. Otherwise, my room was beautifully appointed and new. Once inside the hotel I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Great position, nicely decorated but small rooms
I stayed in a standard room for 2 nights and paid $110 pn. Pros I have stayed at the Ibis Central and was quite happy with it because I love the position. Novotel had a great special which made it only a little more expensive than the Ibis so I thought I would try it out. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have a great bathroom and huge TV. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cons The room was small and badly designed and I found it quite claustrophobic. This was exacerbated by the fact that I couldn't turn the air con down so the room was very hot. I asked for it to be fixed after the first night but the same thing happened the next night so I had to turn it off altogether. Another hot night so 2 uncomfortable nights unfortunately. The bar and restaurants were either closed or had limited hours which was a shame as I had to have breakfast at the Golden Mug cafe at the front of the hotel (independently owned) and it was very ordinary. At the usual price of around $160 - $200 ish I think there are better options.
Very disappointing
This is probably not the place to say this but we booked for 2 nights and stayed one. We were given mixed messages of what was available and what was actually open. We could not get room service for breakfast and we couldn't dine in the restaurant.
Just OK
Booked a Deluxe room over superior, wouldn't bother, for the extra cost I don't see the value. Room had a view of of large apartment building directly opposite, nothing else. I am an Accor Plus member, I asked at check in if I could use my card for 50% off breakfast for my wife and I, I was told yes. When we went down on Monday 28th we were told it was a public holiday and could not use the card. I explained I asked at check in but the guy didn't seem to care, we left and went to a cafe. There restaurant and bar were not open due to Covid. The Hotel it self is close to Hardware lane restaurants.
Nice hotel great location
Recently stayed and found the rooms to be quite nice. Situated in a great location close for a stroll or to eat in Hardware Lane. Service was very friendly and efficient. Tried breakfast in the restaurant. Food quite nice a bit cumbersome with the COVID regulations but enjoyable. Could not get into the hotel restaurant which speaks of how good the food is but will try again soon.
