Waterfront Apartments Melbourne

Excellent all-round. It's actually a residential building where a family business leases and rents out to visitors about 80 apartments. The building dates from 2003 so quite modern and a lot of the people in the building actually live there full-time so it's not a traditional hotel. It has a gym, pool, sauna etc and a concierge. We stayed five weeks, booking at short notice and extending as we went because we moved there from Hong Kong as the coronavirus crisis developed in Asia. The building is modern, the apartment was very clean and well-equipped, spacious with three bedrooms and a great view from the balconies across the Yarra River to the ocean. It's extremely well-located, 2-3 minutes to two separate sets of stops in the free tram zone so it's very easy to get into town,the MCC etc, close to Southern Cross station, Ubers are generally just a couple of minutes away and you can walk to the whole CBD, Southbank, Convention Centre, Docklands area if you choose. Cleaning happens every week if you're there for longer than a week, a minor repair to a tap was fixed quickly, they were very flexible as we extended week by week (and charged lower daily rates as the length of our stay increased) while we kept an eye on the virus situation. It's actually our first long-term rental for a vacation since we usually stay in hotels but when we come back to Melbourne we will certainly return. Finally, invariably friendly, helpful people sitting in the company's rental office in the building who sorted out any issue cheerfully so we'd absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a pretty relaxed, good-value and comfortable accommodation experience in Melbourne.

Excellent location and views were stunning. On the water front. Lots of great bars and restaurants close by. The apartment was well equipped and very clean. The pool and spa were very nice and relaxing.

Located on the docks, a close walk to the Convention Centre and the Crowne complex. Plenty of eating places nearby and not far from the Docklands area. An uneasy start with no television reception and iron missing from the room. Quick service from the managers saw a replacement iron and an apology on the TV as the antenna was being worked on. Next day - all good. The room was spacious and clean with two bedrooms and good kitchen facilities. Rooms aren't serviced every day which is fine by me. Good service all round.

We had just the most extraordinary visit to Melbourne these past couple of days. Having spent much time there over the years, even living there for some years long ago, I have never experienced the Melbourne I found while staying at the Waterfront Apartments. Walking into our room and seeing the Yarra river immediately outside our window was an absolute delight....and then having it there, right on our doorstep as we ventured out, a thousand times better. The location of this property is astounding. Immediately opposite the Conference Center where we had plans for one of our days, and central to so many fabulous cafes and eateries. So easy to walk out and be part of the calm side of Melbourne, watching the crews rowing past, little hired boats full of happy people, even a genuine Venetian gondala!! We spent the day riding our bikes along the river, fully taking in the delights of Melbourne as I've never experienced it before. And our hosts were friendly, informative and so very helpful. The double glazing made for a quiet room, even on the Friday night when there were lots of people about outside. A wonderful stay - I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Just book it. We stayed here for 3 days. It’s in a excellent location & the apartment was spacious, clean & comfortable. Reception staff were helpful’ we will be back one day. Easy to walk to the main Railway Station, Southern Cross & the DFO shopping outlet.
