A very good hotel in Merida
It's some years ago now going by bus from Tulum to Merida and it was a very warm day. Arriving in Los Aluxes, we got some beer to cool down and a beautiful clean and huge room with terrace was waiting for us :) The room was very warm too, so we chanced clothes for a swim and it was down to the pool next ! For dinner we asked for some very tasty dishes, steaks from the grill, we got them, and with a professional service. :) The breakfast buffet all mornings was very rich and good too. We stayed for 3 nights, Merida is a beautiful old city in the center, with many churches, a cathedral and parks. The hotel location was ok in the 60. street. There was blendy with restaurants, bodegas, bars and cafe. Next time in Merida it will be Los Aluxes again for us! :)
Great location on Calle 60, close to everything in Merica
I am surprised by some of the poor reviews. I stayed here 5 nights and only had one night when the noise was bad. That was due to a fiesta in central Merida, lots of singing, loud music, and yelling right at the hotel since it is centrally located. Many people complained to the staff about it and it was very quiet for all the other nights. My room was outstanding, most comfortable bed, clean, spacious. The pool is wonderful and the staff were very helpful although many of them only know Spanish. The internet was spotty during our stay and could have been better. Despite these few issues I would stay here again.
Worst hotel ever
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in Mexico. Staff were rude, unfriendly and clearly hated Americans. No hot water, noisy, dirty sheets, stained towles. I could go on all day. I would never stay here again if it was free.
DON'T TRY !!!
We were attracted by the inviting cheap price, and from the photos then it does not look so bad. Arrived in the room that we have assigned to low floor behind the pool, the room presented in the following conditions: the beds were hard as stones, a horrible stench of damp, the tiny window without natural light. In the room we could not stand more than 30 minutes we had to change hotel. The structure urgently needs a major restructuring
Good
Good location, service, price and the room was very clean. I would stay here again. I felt safe and walked to everything. Pool was nice to cool off. Staff was helpful and WiFi was great. Not a 5 star but good value.
