2021 F1 Mexico City Weekend @ the W Mexico City Polanco
Reviewed 11 november, 2021
Me and a group of guests from New York decided to fly in and watch the Formula 1 GP in Mexico City this past weekend. We had been planning this for quite a few months and had been in contact with the Diego Martinez and Daniela Gonzalez @ the W hotel. We ended up having 6 rooms at the W. After our stay I can only say how appreciative and pleased we were after staying with them. Diego was our W Insider and he went above and beyond with planning and assisting all of our itinerary and activities. It was an exceptionally great experience and Diego was instrumental to being our point man at the hotel. He was great to work with and would strongly recommend contacting him as he is been a true asset to their team. He even took the time out to walk us around Polanco and show us some sights. I can't thank him enough. Daniela arranged our full hotel stays and even though she was out on maternity leave, still took time out of her day to make sure we were okay. She was extremely accommodating and really was a pleasure to work with her on our trip. I was glad to meet her and it was a great experience before and after our trip. We felt at home at the W. The staff were truly very pleasant and caring. I would not hesitate anyone to stay at this property for the sheer service alone. Its location is also great as it is in the center of all the F1 action in Polanco. Highly recommend.
Lovely Hotel Staff

I stayed here for the holidays, and it was amazing! Traveling solo presents many challenges, but the staff helped me to combat so many things. Upon check in, everyone was so friendly and helpful. All of my dinner recommendations and reservations, were handled by the front desk staff and I couldn't have planned a better itinerary, even if I tried. My tours and car service was also handled by the concierge and it made me feel really comfy & safe. My room was beautiful, spacious, clean & had great views. I didn't enjoy my breakfast, but it was complimentary and no big deal. I plan to return next month and I am really looking forward to staying here again!
Fantastic Customer Service at W Hotel- Polanco

I certainly experienced the most professional customer service at W Hotel Mexico…From the moment I walked in, checked-in crew, restaurant service members and checked out service, everyone I encountered was very graceful and helpful. In particular, Christopher G. was extremely helpful in resolving a personal situation. I am super grateful for that. If you are looking to feel pampered, safe and sane stay at the W Hotel in Polanco area.
Loving in W at Polanco

Excellent service at the W in Polanco! Very accommodating!!! Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. At the restaurant Giovanny was the best! Had an incident of our friend leaving behind her cel phone in a taxi and the hotel staff went far and beyond to help locate the taxi driver. Reviewing the cameras, figuring out license plate, etc. Happy to say driver came back to return it!
Gaudy, outdated and tacky, but with friendly staff!

I rated this hotel as average, because that’s absolutely what it is. It isn’t the best hotel nor it’s the worst. It definitely should not call itself a 5 star hotel like they do. Feels 4 stars at most! The decor and architecture are very tacky, but I guess that’s just a question of taste and seems to be a motif in all W hotels (although the Miami one is much more refined and toned down) What really bothered me about this hotel was the room. It felt really old and tasteless. The floor was made of ice cold bathroom tiles thought out the entire space. There was only a window at the bathroom. The shower felt like a black dark room. Super claustrophobic. But worst of all was the wall has a wall paper with a massive picture of a white model dressed in indigenous clothing. It’s 2021, surely someone must have called out the heinous cultural appropriation! If you want to pay homage to indigenous culture, please use wall art that shows actual indigenous people, made and sold by them! And not a white model! Another problem I had was the non inconsistent use of masks. I removed my mask when running in the treadmill and the attendant made me put it back on. Even though right in front of me there were people in the indooor pool not wearing masks! I pointed that out and the man said that the hot water from the pool killed Covid? That’s inaccurate. I told him I was fully vaccinated and I was just running on a treadmill, and there was not one soul next to me. He said it was hotel policy. When I came back to the hotel that night, the lobby at the bar was packed like a nightclub and no one was wearing a mask! Complete hypocrisy. The last thing that bothered me was some false advertising. If you go on The W Mexico City website, the first image you see is of this beautiful rooftop bar with a stunning view. That’s literally the main image of the site. When I arrived I asked about it and they said it’s the penthouse suite. Very deceiving because the picture is of a grand bar, that does not indicate at all that it’s a room. Now for the good part, the staff is very friendly and nice. Even the man at the gym with the inconsistent mask policies was still very nice and well mannered. I’d especially like to thank the bartender who found a 10 dollar bill I accidentally dropped and called my room to give it back. Also ten bed was pretty comfortable and the location of the room is the best in Mexico City!
