More about the hotel
DONT waste YOUR MONEY!!!!
My boyfriend upgraded last minute to catch the sunset and sunrise in a Ocean suite. We had such an amazing time in the Keys, why not splurge. The only thing positive was the view from the balcony! The first thing that happened was I cut my thumb on the handle going from the balcony into the room (see pictures) When we called the front desk they lady was incredibly rude. She said I needed to come down and get a 1st aid kit. She didn't say a word to us, didn't ask how it happened or to even look at my thumb. Then we discovered that there is no room service during the week, even though we were told at check in that there is. We decided to order door dash, the delivery guy couldn't come into the hotel, even though there are random people in the hallways either making out, or partying. Only one ice machine works in the hotel (this is why we know about all the people hanging out in the hall ways. Also let's hope you don't need silverware, because it is nearly impossible to find in the hotel. And again the lady at the front desk was rude!! So let's talk about the room. It is dirty. Hair everywhere, fifthly hand prints on the door and the bed was very squeaky and felt 10 years old. The TV is horrible. It was so fuzzy that there was several channels that you couldn't even watch. We travel a lot and this by far was the worse hotel that we have ever stayed at. Do not waste your money, there are way better options for the money you spend here! Let me add that we did talk to the manager the next day and she said she was going to email us, we still haven't heard from her.
Below Average
The hotel charges a resort fee, but you get nothing for that fee. It's basically a Miami Beach hotel tax. Also, the desk agents were not very friendly, and the rooms were not worth the $200 per night rate. The rooms are just average. The breakfast that was served had nothing hot. All food was cold whether or not it was supposed to be. I have visited another Riu property, and it is nothing like this one. Don't waste your money on this property when visiting Miami Beach. Spend the money on a better hotel or a less expensive one with better amenities.
Bad service
Worst service ever food was left in my fridge from other guest, people at pool don't what to work they told me to get my own drinks then they charged me a service charge to bring it to me, no one at the beach to help was told that there was. everyone says sorry but don't fix anything. At the front desk they are all trained to just say NO Manager and in the morning at 930 when one said yes he never should up when ask another front desk person She said no manager. FYI to owner my Drinks bill would have been 300- 400 was 39 dollars. I was so afraid of service I went out to eat $250 dinner.
Disappointed
Customer service ... checkin staff very rude and no bell hop 👎 valet it took a good 20 minutes each time just to pick up or drop off car 👎 staff for breakfast 👍 not very kid friendly Bartender/ barista was horrible
Disgusting
If I could leave a -10 stars I would. I had a card on file which I had to call 3 times (until I finally reached someone) to confirm if they are able to charge without the card being present at the time of check in. They informed that they could so of course I come to check in on New Year’s Eve and the concierge that did not even speak English and has to use a translated told me I can not receive the room without the card being present. I was forced to go all the way to the bank after a long flight on a holiday to take out cash. Once I come back to the hotel and hand the same concierge the cash he then informs me he needs a $150 deposit on top for all the nights. I specifically asked him if that will be charged on my card which he proceeded to tell me it will not. I wake up to a nice surprise to my card being charged and of course I will be disputing this payment. The hotel does not clean your rooms as normal hotels are supposed to and the beds are as hard as a rock. The breakfast was awful as well, I took 2 bites and ended up leaving it all. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
