More about the hotel
Another wonderful stay
You don’t stay at the Palms four times in one year if it isn’t simply amazing. My wife and I made our latest trip to the Palms in mid beach. The Palms Hotel and Spa never disappoints. First and foremost is the staff. They attend to your very need and make you feel so welcomed and cared for. The grounds are always being maintained and are so tropical and serene with beautiful music played around the entire property. The tiki bar was being renovated and the boardwalk between the beach and resort is also under construction, but the hotel has made alternate arrangements to relocate the bar temporarily and also beach access still easy and quick. The oceanfront rooms have breathtaking views of the sunset and are a must! The rooms are super clean and very modern. The hotel is just north of the busier South Beach and is a bit more laid back allowing for a more peaceful experience. The place is a gem and we are never disappointed and will be booking another stay very soon.
Another great stay
This is my second stay at The Palms and the service and property we're again impeccable. The staff was friendly and responsive and the property is very well maintained. The private beach was delightful even in the midst of a pandemic.
Perfect place to get away from reality
My wife and I stayed in an oceanfront king room on the 9th floor. Bathroom counter space is minimal but the decor was great and the view outside our huge windows was spectacular. We never left the property during our four day stay. Watched sunrises, dined outdoors, enjoyed cocktails on the beach, and relaxed. Staff wore face masks indoors and outdoors. Guests wore masks indoors and while walking around outdoors. Masks come off on the beach (social distancing is easy there) and in poolside chairs (which are positioned with a lot of space between each set of chairs). We loved the tropical plants and palm trees, and the feeling of being very far away from our reality for a few days. Very happy we selected The Palms.
Lacking the basics
I’m currently staying at The Palms, and although the grounds outside are nice, indoors the building and facility is oddly lacking. We were out in a room right next to the elevator and the noise levels from all directions is outrageous. The room next door, anyone who enters any room on the floors the elevator and the street noise all make it impossible to sleep or rest. Thinking we’d put on the tv to drown out some of the noise to rest, nope the television and power go out and restart every five to ten minutes. Further, the wiring and electrical in this place is beyond questionable. The light for the toilet closet only goes on by clicking a button that turns on every light in the entire bedroom. Basic amenities standard in all US hotels are not available either; the first place hotel in my life that has not had neither a coffee maker in the room nor available for guests in the lobby. Making the best of it during our stay though nothing of substance has come from inquiries to the front desk. They’ve sent their engineer up three times to say “just an odd network issue”. Pretty bad when you can’t even count on the electricity in a major urban hub.
Poor location
Our disappointment was found in the poor condition of the surrounding area due to construction and ongoing updating which truly needs to happen. But since we encountered these on our vacation, it did not add to our thrill of being in Miami Beach.
