More about the hotel
Not a good experience
Room is ok. Nothing special. Room service is ok as well just a very small menu. Our sliding balcony door won’t close. Gnats and mosquitos in the room. Cigarette buds on the patio from parties from rooms above ours. VERY loud at night with all the partying. The pool bar is extremely loud up until midnight. Then there was a party at the room above ours until 4:30am and since our balcony door won’t close, it was like our bedroom was in the party. Tried to get another room and only 1 was available which they wanted a $10,000 up charge. I offered $3000 a night that I would pay and they came down to $7500 a night and wouldn’t budge anymore. Still waiting to get our sliding door fixed. AVOID this hotel. So many other better places for the same price. Our plunge pool is cold as well, at Miami Beach EDITION it was nice and hot. I will NOT be staying at the W ever again
MALIK AND GISSELLE
Today was such a beautiful day i decided to spend the day at the beach, Gisselles the first person that I met and she was amazing She checked me in and made sure I had plenty of towels for the day. Malik was wonderful he placed me in such a great spot in the sun! I’m DEFINITELY coming back!
NOT ADA Compliant!
I only post positive reviews on Trip Advisor, but feel compelled to make this post for those that may be considering this property on the basis of its representation that it is ADA compliant. I did tons of research to find a hotel in Miami to bring my wheelchair bound mother pre-COVID. We booked a villa and from the onset ran into dangerous situation after dangerous situation. While the manager attempted to accommodate us, it was to no avail. And I have since contacted him a few times to ensure that the situation has been remedied for future guests and received no response. I have reached out to leadership at Marriott in an attempt to get a response from them. Based on how they deal with ADA, I would be equally concerned on how they could possibly deal with the safety issues/requirements required by COVID
Charged $200 in minibar items that we didn't consume - Beware
Of course I'm angry and upset. My partner and I were charged for a list of items we did not consume. This includes a $93 charge for a bottle of vodka and we don't drink vodka. I've tried with the billing department to come to resolution, but no luck. The reason I'm writing this is to make other travelers and they management aware that they may have a staff issue of theft with their employees, because I'm going to assume that the hotel isn't trying to make money this way. I'll be clear as I have been with Ms Ramos in billing - we had one cashew pack and one ritter bar during our stay and nothing else. It's really pathetic that this has to happen at a such an upscale hotel. Travellers beware of this at this hotel.
Simply an amazing & relaxing stay
As always we luv W South beach hotel. With Covid, we care most about the hotel covid safety restrictions & cleanliness before we book our hotel these days... and the W hotel South beach made us feel safe and their service & staff are top notch. While we didn’t use much of their facilities due to covid but we are able to enjoy and relax in our ocean view room and their breakfast at the restaurant by the garden were super delicious.
