Better than Most

We were pleasantly surprised at the condition of the room and the service while staying at Red Roof in Michigan City. Even with a last minute check-in, they met all of our needs. The manager was available and very friendly. We saw him walking the grounds to clean the property. Each time we saw him he asked if there was anything we needed. The room was clean and up to date. It was more than we expected for the price.
Very nice staff

The staff at this hotel are the nicest and most caring I’ve ever experienced. They were friendly and ensured we had everything we needed for a good stay. It’s not as up to date as some of the other Red Roofs but it was clean, which is all I care about. It’s within 15 minutes of Indiana Dunes and fun breweries.

Don’t stay here. Honestly the place is nasty. As you can read in all the other reviews. It’s all true. The rooms smell, outdated, broken, stained, cigarette burns.... you name it. Not to mention the sketchy vibe lingering in the air. Pretty rough spot
DO NOT STAY HERE

Easily the worst Red Roof Inn in the chain. DO NOT STAY HERE. Owner/Manager?? was working the front desk when I arrived at 11:00 PM, I stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes with no one else in the lobby, he did not look up but he did say ID and Credit Card. Both were on the counter right in front of him. Not one word from him except that. I went to the room, BLOOD on the bed sheet, no lock on the door and a totaly disgusting room. He gave me another room. This one had blood on the carpet, fixtures ripped off the wall, light fixtures with no lamp shade and one was broken, holes punched in the wall and black mold all over the bathroom. My guess is no concern for the cleaning requirement from Red Roof for the Virus. I'm calling the health dept tomorrow to at least file a complaint. I already sent one to Red Roof Inn. It was unreal DO NOT STAY HERE.
Rough, Not as advertised.

Dirty. Pealing paint. Dead bugs on the floor. Dirty underware and food particals behind the television. No remote, we asked if the room was supposed to have a tv remote, they said yes, but never have us one. Pillows so fluffy they start about 8" thick but after 30 minutes they smash down to about 1" thick. Sheets were about 50/50 poly so smelled and felt like plastic. Towels were literally tge cheapest towels you could find. No coffee machine in the room which was supposed to be in the room we paid for. No insulation under or above tub/shower so its very loud. Bathroom door opens 1/4" from the toilet. Scrubby looking people loitering outside constantly behind businesses nearby. Staff didn't understand English well but tried hard to do the job well. You are not getting a "deal" staying here, you get what your paying for.
