Cozy, Comfortable and Classy
We loved our stay at the Doctor's Inn amongst all the intricate and elaborate furnishings and art displays. Not a lick of dust or dirt anywhere. The staff are very friendly and bend over backwards to serve you. It's on Main St, but the surroundings are private, nestled in the large wooded property. Excellent food establishments are nearby, most of them are BYOB or if you prefer to be served, the Bellevue, catty corner to the Inn, is a full licensed Tavern. We stayed in the Albert E Wood room which was end of front hall, 2nd floor and very private. The room had everything we needed with extra clean bathroom and and shower with great water pressure and temperature, a closet equipped with a small fridge, a TV, small table and chairs and very comfortable bed. One item we missed was a place to put our bedside water so we stood up a suitcase which worked perfectly. The furnishings, wallpaper and art in the 3 large windowed sunny room was wonderful and we spent a good deal of time enjoying the room. At night, after dinner, we enjoyed homemade cookies and chamomile herbal tea from the many tea selections in the parlor. We enjoyed having some fruit in the gazebo while listening to the water fountain, petting the black cat we dubbed "Pirate Boots" for it's growling meow and white boots. The bike trail is very near by and the Inn is happy to store them in the sunroom for safe keeping and ease of access. 20 mins drive to the shops and beach in Stone Harbor. We will be back!
Wonderful Stay!
My husband and I stayed a week at the Doctor's Inn. The owner, Lorraine, and the entire staff couldn't be nicer, and were very accommodating. The inn is not only lovely, it is comfortable...the rooms are beautiful, the breakfast is a fully cooked meal every morning with eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, sometimes French toast or pancakes, different breads, cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices and more! This is our second stay at the Doctor's Inn, and we hope to be able to return many more times.
Takes you back to a different time
I had a wonderful one night stay at the Doctor’s Inn. The room was comfortable and the in-room fireplace kept it warm enough. I’ve stayed in one other B&B before and it was very similar. The decor is beautiful. I wish I had had more time to wander around and look at everything in detail. The owner, Lorraine, was friendly and very accommodating. The continental breakfast was very good. I never saw anyone else and felt like I had the whole place to myself. It’s not like a hotel where there’s somebody at the desk all the time. Lorraine left her number which I would have used if I had any problems. But I didn’t, because everything was perfect.
Rustic and charming!!
We stayed here twice in January & February 2019. While moving my parents to Brookdale, we needed someplace close to stay and we stayed at the Doctors Inn in January for around five days and loved it. It was cold outside but the room and Inn were warm and Beth and the owner were very accomodating and the gentelman who cooked breakfast for us did an awesome job and the food was hot. We enjoyed it so much that when we came back a few weeks later, we stayed there again and enjoyed it the same. We stayed in the ELIZABETH E. WOOD / BRIDAL SUITE, Room 2 on the Second Floor both times. We are headed up that way to visit my folks in late January but the Inn is closed for renovations, bummer!!
A Lovely Inn
A beautifully restored Victorian with an interesting history, Nice breakfast and beach badges to Stone Harbor which had a great little town with shops and restaurants and a beautiful beach. The Inn was a quick trip into Cape May.
