Friendly, comfortable stay. Average hotel breakfast. Room was spacious and clean. Location was right off of the highway. Construction was everywhere but will be super nice when it's done. My stay didn't show in the app for some reason.
have had better from hawthorn

all was well or at least i thought it was. i am empathetic to the hospitality industry during the pandemic so not trying to be harsh. with that said the rooms looked "tired" and upholstery on furniture was stained and i was afraid to sit in chair to read before bed as is my custom to do at home and away. also everything looked clean but there were cup stains on the nightstand which wiped away with a tiny bit of elbow grease so makes me wonder how well or thorough everything is cleaned.

If I would have read the reviews before I got the motel I would have never stayed here. First of all the website stated that we could check in at 3, nope site is wrong and they know that. Check in time is 4, extra time to clean rooms because of covid. BUT, the coffee pot had mold in it, and the floor was filthy. But we couldn’t leave because they would have charged us anyways. So we stayed Saturday night, it was ok, other than the 3rd floor is HOT as hell. Sunday we left our room at noon, got back around 7, noticed our do not disturb sign was off our door and our key did not work. Called the desk, “oh I apologize, we didn’t have you in as staying for two night” LIE!!!! After we get into the room, we begin looking around, because someone has been in our room, made two beds and took out one bag of trash. And here is the kicker, it was a maid who came into our room without our permission and stole my medicine. All of it, I called the cops made a report, nothing will be done I’m sure. Owner did not even have the decency to come and speak with us, did give us one night of stay back, but said because we stayed after the fact, that we wouldn’t get that day back. Forget you Hawthorne by Wyndham, you said if we left we wouldn’t get our money back, but then contradicted yourself and said we didn’t get our money back because we didn’t leave. So I will NEVER EVER EVER stay at the motel again. Oh and I called them to speak to owner, she still hasn’t returned my call. So disrespectful,
Bugs in bathroom and sink area.

The only major problem that I encountered during my stay was the fact that I had several small roaches and ants that were located in my bathroom and the sink area right outside of the bathroom. I notified the front desk and showed the young lady the pictures of the bugs on my phone. She stated that she would let an engineer know about the problem so that they could spray the room. I was a little hesitant because I didn't want to smell bug spray in the room. She did offer to move me to another room but I was already unpacked and was about to head out for dinner. When I returned, housekeeping did come to the room to pull the sheets up on the bed I was quite disappointed that the bugs were still in the same place. It didn't look as if engineering came into the room to do anything. No compensation was offered for the lack of extermination in the room. Unfortunately, this stay has put a sour taste in my mouth for the brand. I have been working in the luxury hotel business for the past 23 years and currently working in the #1 luxury hotel in the country. I understand that this isn't a 5 star property or anything, but I do expect not to sleep with bugs in the next room.
Unacceptable cleanliness issues

There was old food in the fridge when we checked in. How GROSS!!! Also, there was a nasty stain on the sofa. Clean or not, they should replace ANY furniture that has such a prominent stain on it. I reserved a room with two double beds, but got a room with one king bed and no alternatives. That's unacceptable. OLD furniture, fluorescent lighting that made it feel like I was in a hospital room, and faulty pluming fixtures (I thought I was going to rip the tub faucet off trying to activate the shower) made it an unpleasant experience. I expect more out of Wyndham. I mean, this would have been lame for a Motel 6, but at least it would have been cheaper.
