Rude greeter when checking in

I walked in and they didn’t say hello and just glared at you. It was almost like they didn’t want you to stay at your hotel. They asked for my ID and after they say that I am a 19 year old female, they started added all of these extra charges. I said there’s no way, this is what I booked on Expedia, this is what I’m paying. They thought they could take advantage of me because of my age and gender and that is absolutely not ok. I know how to handle stuff and they tried to take advantage of the wrong girl. I won’t be staying here again. I have never had issues with a Holiday Inn but this experience was appalling.
The Place to Stay

This is the best location in downtown Minneapolis. You can get everywhere from this location - walking. Everytime I am in Minneapolis, this is where I stay. The property is updated, comfortable, neat, and clean. The staff is helpful, friendly, professional, and fun. I am sad when there is no vacancy.
How is this place getting good reviews

This place is seedy , rundown and creepy. Certainly not in an area where a Woman feels safe walking around alone at night.
I did not even check in. Dark and dreary corneR of Minneapolis. Shame on Holiday Inn. Go elsewhere.
Enjoyable and convenient

We stayed here for four nights for the GalaxyCon convention. It’s proximity to the convention center and it being a hotel with lower con rates were the biggest reasons for staying here. Our room was nice and clean and the staff here were very friendly. Breakfast in the morning was great! It’s a well stocked breakfast bar, even with the amount of people coming down for breakfast over the weekend, they did a great job at keeping up. The pool area was nice and clean as well. The pool is a little on the smaller size, but wasn’t a detractor. The hot tub was a great way to unwind after a lot of walking! The guest laundry was also convenient. All you have to do is ask for the key and you can do a load of laundry for $5 and that includes detergent and dryer sheets. The room locks and you’re the only one with the key so no one can get in there while your laundry is going. I think the only thing I didn’t expect was the price to park. I guess I should’ve expected to pay for parking, but at $15 per night to park on the property, it added up for five days. It’s the first time I’ve ever had to pay for parking at a hotel that wasn’t an extended stay situation. I didn’t see any free parking anywhere downtown or cheaper for that matter, so we opted to stay on the property as the lot does have a camera and it made it easier for us to access our vehicle if we needed it.
Overall, this was a great place to stay. We will likely stay here again when we come back next year!

Perfect downtown location. Very comfortable beds and clean room. Nice modern storage, desk, seating, and lighting in room. Love the labeling on the pillows too.
Friendly staff and Stephen at the front desk was very helpful!!
