Unless you have one of the rooms in the historic portion, it’s a pretty standard hotel room, nothing special. We chose it because we booked a historic room on Marriott’s own app (facing the courtyard to avoid street noise) and when we checked in they had us in a non-historic room facing the street. When I pointed out that that wasn’t what we booked, the person at the desk said it was surprising that we could book an historic room because they were all full with continuing guests. He managed to put us in a courtyard facing room, and it was fine, but for the price I’d stay somewhere more interesting.

Because of work and leisure we travel a lot and our experience in this hotel has been the worst. They’re totally understaffed but they charge you top dollar. Staff weren’t helpful or nice either. Avoid staying here if possible.

Some of the staff is fine. I’m not sure how Marriott does its ratings anymore, but this is not a Category 4 hotel. There aren’t even any drawers in the hotel room. We’re living out of a bag. Our first room smelled incredibly musty. So we asked to be switched to another room. It was also musty. I guess it’s just a musty smelling hotel. I submitted a request for towels this morning at 8:53 this morning. It’s now 11:26 in the evening and we haven’t received those towels. As Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite members, we expected a much different experience. Do yourself a favor and skip this hotel.

Was here for two nights business meetings with a group of 14. Meeting facilities were perfect for us. Everything was prepared as we had asked and staff came by frequently to confirm if anything else was needed. Catered lunch was prepared well, tasted great, and plenty of it. BEST surprise was my missing laptop power cord was sent to my home address by the hotel staff. I had not realized I left it at the hotel. Above and beyond. Thank you!

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding and the facilities and rooms were great, but what really stood out was the extent to which the staff went to make us happy. I confess that due to some requests from my wife, I was not an easy customer. The staff in general, and Chad, the customer experience manager went way above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect. There are a lot of great hotels available, but few exceed all expectations around customer service and desire to please. I HIGHLY recommend the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot for anyone planning an event or just coming in for business.
