Ok, but didn’t quite meet our expectations.
Overall, we liked the Red Llama Eco Hostel and its location in the neighbourhood of Miraflores. The staff were all super kind and helpful but we found that cleanliness was not their forte. Breakfast was quite good with toasts, jam, juice and some eggs. However, the kitchen did not seem very accesible for guests since most utensils/kitchenware were locked in drawers. Also, although the showers were good in terms of temperature and water pressure, we experienced electric shocks when trying to regulate the water using the shower knobs. It didn’t seem pretty safe..
Pleasant hostel in good location
Stayed in an 8 person dorm. Amenities were pretty basic but there was a place to store stuff. Dirty bathroom when we arrived but it was cleaned over the course of our stay. COLD--ask for extra blankets. Breakfast was amazing
Convenient location
I stayed in this hostel for 3 days in July which is winter season in Peru. The rooms have no aircon so I don’t know if it will be warm in the rooms during summer: Good points: 1) rooms are cleaned daily 2) on my 2nd day they replaced all the bed mattress’s and pillows in our room 3) breakfast is free (coffee/tea, toasted bread 3 pieces with omelet and orange juice) 4) the reception personnel are friendly and responsive to request they would even call a taxi and negotiate taxi fares as well as tours for you 5) location is at the center of miraflores 2 min walk to the airport shuttle stop, huge mall, restaurants Kennedy Park and souvenir shops 6) free wifi and you can refill your water in their pantry/kitchen where u can even cook your meals Needs improvement 1) not everyone likes cats. There is a cat roaming around the hostel 2) the water pressure in the showers is not consistent. At certain times water pressure is weak and you lose the hot water it suddenly becomes cold 3) there are 5 reception personnel alternating shifts I don’t know if they were all oriented that a room with 4 beds must have at least a spare key and not just knock on the door at midnight and wake up everyone in the room because he said there is only 1 key for that room.
Amazing Breakfast
We chose to stay in an 8 person dorm, which was actually empty when we got there so we got great value. The breakfast was amazing in the morning - the staff prepared us freshly cooked tortillas and loads of bread!
Great hostel with friendly staff
A clean hostel in a great location with all the facilities needed and more. Chilled atmosphere with lovely staff who help with anything you might need. Felt very safe here, airport pick up service gave extra piece of mind and was super easy to arrange - thank you!
