You can’t beat the Peace Island Hotel Miyakojima when it comes to affordability and convenience. The rooms are small (as expected) but not too small to accomodate two people with suitcases easily enough. We booked a twin bed and found ourselves on the 8th floor (8 F). The window opens to allow fresh air in and ,after a bit of fumbling, managed to sort out the air conditioner and get a good temp happening. The rooms are quiet and the beds are comfortable (very firm) and the room also houses a fridge with freezer, a microwave and a washer/dryer. Detergent packets are available for purchase at the front desk (We asked the housekeeper for help after failing to figure out how the Panasonic all-in one works. Ours didn’t really dry but spun long enough to allow for air drying on the bathroom clothesline) Mixed Japanese / Western option breakfast is included and enjoyable. We rented a car (3days) from Times car rental - HIGHLY recommended. The island is small and easy to navigate, the car also allowed us to visit the 3 islands joined by bridges. The hotel is directly adjacent to a moped mechanic/rental place. An international license is needed to drive. Check your country before you go as some countries international licenses were not accepted. We were also able to park our rental for free at the hotel. Right outside the door is a vibrant strip of restaurants and Izakaya’s and a few bars. As this was very much a foodie type adventure for us, we enjoyed our 5 nights of sampling the various menu’s. A few places we went back to more than once. Try Maushi and Syubo for yourself. As well, you’ll find souvenir shops, a department store, bank (foreign exchange between 10:00- 10:20 AM ONLY!) a CoCo, a Family Mart and a pharmacy close by. ** For a great grocery store with tons of takeaway food options to pack for the beaches, Google Sanei Miyakojima to find one a short walk from the Hotel. The staff spoke little English (as expected) but they are all very friendly and accommodating. With some charades and pointing at the available maps and guide books, all went well. When something more business like required communication beyond charades, (i.e. the front desk arranging for our car rental) a charming Phillipino staff member came in to help with interpretation and make things easy! NOTE: Check in is 2PM

毎日の室内清掃がありとても気持ちよく過ごせました。１０回の大浴場も、景色もよく、朝風呂にも入り、ダイビングから帰っても、のんびりくつろげました。

ダイバー用の洗い場とロッカーがあるのはとても嬉しいし便利 ただ、洗い場がただのシンクみたいだったのでカメラの塩抜きやウエットスーツを洗うのに不向きだったのが残念だった。 部屋は綺麗で毎日清掃に入ってくれたので4泊全て気持ちよく過ごせた。

大浴場があるとのことで宿泊を決めましたが、改装中との事で使えませんでした。 しかしながら、部屋には大浴場の使い方みたいなパンフレットがデスクの上に置いてあり、改装中ならその期間中は置かなければいいのにと思いました（1枚のパウチされた紙で置いてあるだけ）。 ベッドは硬め、枕はなんだろう？表裏で硬いのと柔らかい仕様、私にはどちらも寝にくかった。 スリッパは使い捨てでないやつだったので使用しなかった。 Wifiがかなり微弱で速度も遅く切れ気味。 3日目にフロントに言ったらルーターを貸してもらえましたが、それならそうとどこかに案内されてればいいのに（部屋であらかじめわかりそうなもの）。 狭い部屋に不釣り合いな大きな冷蔵庫があり、音がかなりうるさく眠れず、コンセトを抜いた（小さいものなら中にスイッチがあるけど、大きいからかそんなものなかった）。 洗濯機も部屋についていたが、ふたを開けるとかび臭かった。 閉めっぱなしもよくないと思うので、ふたは開けっぱなしでもいいと思う。 朝食は郷土料理もあるが、7時のオープン時に行くと2日とも既にほぼ満席だった。 4人掛け、6人掛けのテーブルでもお一人様利用も多く、コロナ禍でもあるし、仕切り板でも置いてもっと座れるようにすればいいのに。 バイキングで味は普通、品数はそれなりだったが、盛ってある皿が小さめなのかすぐになくなる。 サラダは2日とも同じだった。 トースターは2台は欲しい。 立地は繁華街に近く、コンビニも近いので夕飯にも困らない。 1日の夕飯はあいにくの雨だったので朝バイキング会場である居酒屋さんに行けたので助かった。

器材洗い場に付け置きできる桶が欲しい

ロケーション、サービス等は満足で、器材洗い場、干場もありますが、ダイビング器材を付けて置ける大きな桶等があればありがたいです。 以前はあった気がするのですが、付け置きができず部屋で洗う人もいます、是非一考をお願いします。 WIFIありですが、部屋で繋がらないことが多いですが、ルータを借りることができます。 大浴場で入れ墨いれた若いグループが大声で騒いでいるのが気になりました。
