Very poor experience for a Marriott property

Checked in at 7:15 pm. October 7, 2021. Front desk person was incoherent. Could barely understand her. Seemed to be tired? Had trouble finding my reservation. No acknowledgment of my Titanium Elite status, nor any offer of free breakfast, points, etc. Site said there was restaurant, but it was closed when we arrived? Asked about breakfast.. said "it is not free".. ? $12 Wow, what a way to treat an elite level customer, or any customer for that matter. Hotel is "vintage" and seemed to be clean in the hallways and in the rooms. But, there was mold in the bathroom shower, floor, and a "white powder" inside the tissue box on the vanity? See photos. The beds are also too vintage.. poor support and need to be replaced. Front desk person was little help in recommending a place to eat.. "just make a left and look" .. which we did, but little to pick from. We ended up eating at a Wendy's drive through. We noticed the front desk person in the parking lot when we returned leaving a car and coming back in to the lobby? Who is minding the store? Overall not a good experience for any Marriott property.
Old and small rooms

You expect more, much more from a "Mariott". This was a very poor experience from check in to the room. The room they gave us was so small and so old that we checked out the first day. The bathroom was terrible and the carpets were smelly and worn out. Staff is kept at the very minimum number and they are worn out as much as the hotel.

Tired hotel that is located away from attractions. Staff is difficult to get a hold of (especially via phone). Ice machine on our floor was out for 3 days with no effort to fix. Lots of water spots on the wall and ceiling in our room. Not a great experience and I am a devout Marriott man (Titanium Elite for life). Recommend staying else where.

This was a disappointing stay all around. Our room was dirty (we had to switch twice) with debris caked onto the sink, stains and hairs on the sheets, and something gross splattered on the framed picture in the bathroom. Front desk staff was dismissive and more interested in gabbing with coworkers than providing any real help. I realize the building is old but that is no excuse for poor service and sloppy attention to detail. Find another hotel—this one is not worth your time and money.
Reservations unreliable - rude front desk personell

Reserved a room on a Saturday in March at 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon through the Marriot reservations desk. Secured the room with a credit card. Was sent a confirmation number, and also a statement that the room charge was not refundable. Showed up at the Hotel front desk that evening and was informed by the front desk that they had our confirmed reservation but the hotel was fully booked and they would not honor the reservation because they were expecting some later arrivals. I could not believe the audacity that (1) they would not honor a confirmed with credit card non refundable reservation; and)2 )The front desk had the audacity to turn us a way and state they were expecting some late arrivals. The front desk clerks were the most arrogant and rudest personnel I believe I have ever encountered. They laughed at us because virtually every other room in down was booked. It was despicable that Marriot employees would be amused by the fact that an elderly couple was stranded and unable to find lodging after relying on a confirmed reservation from the Marriot site. We ask for something to show us we were not being charged for the room and front desk refused to give us anything additionally adding to our worries. Contacted Marriot the next day they were basically unconcerned (these things happen response). Interestingly 24 hours after all of this happened they emailed us a cancellation. Stay away from this place. As a long time Marriot customer I was disappointed in the service and then I got to thinking about other Marriot's I stayed in and it hit me over the years they have really let their standards deteriorate. In the future I believe I'll look elsewhere for lodging.
